hey there...bout the matspeed 306 cam...anyone had given it a try? my bro recently did his practical at matspeed so the owner offered him the cams...but after my bro n i had sum talk we decided to decline as thinking bout fuel consumption...so anyone had tried it? how good is it? anyway...satria mivec 1.6 here... :)

racing clutch, dun have gua....hehe. actually i just brought over the car fewdays ago. so do not not what is the existing clutch, the previous owner say is just normal clutch. but the gear box is short ratio 1 lah...cos when at 5th gear RPM 3K the speed was around 95km/h only. normal should be around 110kmh rite?

i think the extrctor is the original mivec, what i mean is the muffer like those wira 1.8 muffer.

hehe, sorry, what is 4-1-2-3 ??? :P

i suspect the exhaust system bcos 1 of my fren say that the exhaut flow not smooth wor...

what kind of muffer u guys used for the mivec? i'm looking for those with the minimun sound level or more solid base when it was at the low RPM. :rolleyes:

When u give the info 3krpm 5th gear at 95kmh. That is consider long ratio, like those 1.6sohc and 1.8dohc gb they r running 3krpm 5th at 110kmh. For original mivec gb u should be at 80-85km(sometimes meter not 100% accurate) on 5th gear 3krpm. Like wat u said could be rite maybe ur exhaust piping and muffler is too small will cost u some of this problem. If u wan min sound look for those big muffler like original mivec muffler but u need bigger than that. I m using RSR gt-2 not quite. Most of them here using loud bcos if u drive mivec or vtec u would chose a louder 1 once the mivec kick in u can hear mivec sound.

oh about the cam u need to ask Mr henryfong. He just install last 2 days ago. i sit next to him when testing...

mivec muffler something like Stock GTI but not twin.

Hi all

Just wondering whether anyone knows approx how much a total conversion (engine, front/rear suspension/brakes, steering + labour) would cost for a Wira 1.5 Auto to Mivec 1.6 Auto. Also a total paint strip down and paint job for a Wira.

I'm a Nissan forumer but I'm givin' my bro my old Wira.

Any help will be much appreciated. Sorry if it's a common question but I can't seem to find the answer in this section. Going to convert it next month.

hmmm get an 1/2 cut about Rm5k. Then sell the mivec gb use back ur auto 1.5 gb. Front / rear suspension depends on ur budget and wat brand u wan. brakes it come with 1/2 cut. Steering ? depend also. Labour for change engine wiring ect ect cost around Rm1.2k to Rm1.5k depends where u wanna do it.

hey welcome. About Gathering Guys wat about this coming friday night 28th Jan 05. Since everyone is asking for 1. Fuel regulator u dun need it at the moment since u running 1.6 and no big mod. YOur original fuel is sufficent.

Ken add me in for the TT section .... about the matspeed cams that i using now .... i have change back to mines chip again ..... the powerband is feeling even more better better torque .... but my distributor still remainning at 9 degrees ... i think 2molo i will set back to 10.5 degree to see any different on that ....


for those who want to know about Matspeed cam ....

1. low end torque increased .....
2. high end peak power increased to 8500++rpm ....
3. need to have mivec controller to set mivec kick in at 5800 rpm .... becoz the high lift
cam power start from 6000rpm toward revcut ......
4.. standard stock computer chip cannot be in use ..... insufficient fuel .... and ignition
timing need to set to advance at 5000rpm to 6000rpm .....
5. better to dyno tune the car ......

if any one still need to know more about Matspeed cam .... Pls join the TT that is organize by Ken this coming friday ....... all question will be answered ./... Thanz ....

[/b][/quote] So RM4.5 - 5 k is about right lah for front clip huh and RM1-1.5k for installation... aight. Thanks heaps ZeNeGeR. Just wanted to check just in case get ripped off by foreman/supplier/parts ... etc. I spose RM10k budget should get us a decent setup engine/brakes/suspension and mayyyyybe rim/tyre package.
