Guys,

I have a doubt here about my gearbox. My gearbox code is F5M22-1-FRMG which, according to specs provided by vestax's pdf documents , the gearbox is from Mitsubishi's Libero model ( CB8A, CB8W 4D68 ) and has a final gear ratio of 3.752 . Whereas the CA4A 4G92 gearbox coded F5M22-2-RRKE (oso RRXE ) has a final gear ratio of 4.021 .

in term of number there's oni little different between 3.752 and 4.021 , my question is how far different does it make in term of performance? what does that number indicate?

yup.. its plug and play.. actually my mech get it for me from chop shop.. i think he knows the connections lar.. its a bit rare coz i only know 1 guy using one.. to buy new dont have.. have to round lor for 2nd hand.. mech told me its for mivec..

very bassy sound !!.. quieter then the proton iswara SE ejos.. but at high rev then it screams.. :D

heheh.. i love it so much.. dont want to exchange lar.. i tot tanabe ejos bassy sound oso right?.

Not to say normal gearbox is better. In a sense is better coz much fuel saving coz lower REV on high speed. But Mivec gearbox ratio closer so can give a better power band and makes ur car pickup speed MUCH faster. Thats from my exprerience ler. :)

yup.. actually performance wise mivec gbox is the best for mivec engine.. hey.. its made for that mah.. :D close ratio..

its true what mivec99 says.. normal gbox oso can use.. but less pick up but save fuel when cruising.. and.. can tarik longer mah.. :D

er..no once can help me up meh ? about the mivec body code !!! thats alrite lah , i think i need to go JPJ and ask them to check back my IP for me.
and one thing.. is this Performance Hose Braiding Kit can use it in our mivec boh ? if i install this to my car is it any help ? i mean the temperture will more cool ? how much they sell this product in malaysia ? this only about RM 100 - 120... but this item is located at australia.

btw, ykyong , I've seen those steel braided thingy in on of the accesory shops here in Penang. dont really recall how much does it cost. i'll check if i go there again.

this 3.752 final drive gearbox ...... sympton ....... u can revs ur car slightly more higher than mivec original gearbox..... drivability not that torky ..... u will have better top speed i think morely u dare to go 260kmh ...... this gearbox is use by mitsubishi diesel engine .... better fuel consumption ....

4.021 final ... still remainning the same with above ... but a bit better lar ..... if compare to orginal 4.592 mivec gearbox ..... u will have very good torque transfer from wheel ..... overtaking any car in cruising make more ez ...... throttle response are fantastic .... but when 5th gear cruising in highway .... u will have a bit high fuel comsumption ....

HAIKKADO .... 2wheel gearbox all have the same spec .... i work at chopshop ...so i know all this thing .....

wallao finally my doubt is cleared. Thanks henry that really explains why i get a speed of 110km/h at 3000RPM in 5th gear. I always have to shift down when overtaking while cruising and throttle response at higher gear is not dat good.

Which means I'm now using a diesel gearbox. no wonder i always got no pickup one. I thought i was using a Mivec gearbox all this while :P

well i guess by using 1.8 block I'm currently running now should compensate what I've lost from a Mivec gearbox.

well.. actually if you have mivec gbox in 1.8 mivec is the best configuration... try trade in and get mivec gbox.. just top-up..

mivec gbox = +/- 3600rpm @ 110kmh @4.5 final drive
1.8 gbox = +/- 3300rpm @110kmh @4.3 final drive
diesel gbox = +/- 3000rpm@[email protected] final drive

bro gibod, thanks for the info. any chance u're riding a hybrid too? got kantau for gearbox trade in ka?

i've heard that can be done also - changing the final drive oni but it would cost almost as getting a chop-shop gearbox.

henry, since u say u're working in a half-cut shop, how much roughly will u take my gearbox for a Mivec gearbox? just trying my luck :) ... thanks.

my company will not take back ur gearbox ..... if jus the mivec gb .it will cost u around RM1000-rm1200 .....without LSD lar ...... if with LSD rm1600-rm2000.

example if now i running RM50 for 450km, then after 4.021 final gear will be RM50 FOR 430KM?



there r not point to change the FD to 4.021 ... u will lost the whole throttle reponse .... if u r a salesman .... then is quite suitable to lower ur fuel comsumption .......

let said RM50 u can make 450KM .. with 4.021 FD i proximately will make it to 480-500km .... just an example only ....
