Super-Charge

Remenber ya, when crank pulley is bigger, water pump will then be spinning faster which will cause cavitation in the coolant, means lack of coolant flowing thru the engine effectively...It will also cause more drag to the engine

My gze with blitz crank was spinning the supercharger 12% faster than stock and water pump spinning faster too by bout 14.8%....The prob here is getting one such pulley....
as the problem mentioned, what is the solution for this?

gerard: if im not mistaken, the nissan march superturbo uses twincharging right?

gerard,

not sure dude... unless you are turbo sang... ;) most of the time i lepak/talked to jefreewee of e30 and turbo sang. quite a discussion we had with turbo sang as the main problem is due to a very limited space to work around in da bimmer.

overall turned satisfied with him and all. was there when there is one guy who twin charging his son's (?) perdana... the guy who drives his e34 alpina engine...

no problem dude... all i can say i AM very impressed with turbo sang coz he undertook this project when in mat salleh land SC is quite common though not with this type of hybrid thingy...

Am still finding the time to test again/riding the completed work of his work...

cheers mate,

so what is the price to supercharge a 4G15?

btw, how long a period is the warranty?

protnosss

As I've mentioned earlier in this post, the pricing factor will be announce once the kit is ready to hit the streets..We are in the late development stages with this kit for 1.5 & 1.6. All I can say is that the price will be affordable to you guys...way below the GTI 1.8 kit which is retail at RM5,500 + installation...Hows that.. :D

gerard,

other than cost factor, timing factor also very important, could you at least give a rough time frame when will the product be available?

One way is to convert all pulleys so evertything runs fine but the million dollar questions is, how much bigger???..I've never tried that before though i wanted to but went againts the idea.....I was telling myself, let's try and see how the blitz pulley perform and how will the water pump cope (reliabily) before doing something that drastic like custom fabricate new pulleys... :o

The result is my gze ran fine boosting at 1 bar with no problems (major) to the water pump, but you have to check constantly the water level and coolant mixture..As for the supercharger, it became louder compared to stock pulley and was still running...I forsee problem if you run a bigger pulley like the cucso as they are way bigger and would cause you premature supercharger failure or at least frequent changing of the sc belt....

Cheers :D

Yes, nissan march does have a model with this twin charging effect and it has the same principles, low end torque from the sc unit and top end from the turbo.... :D

As mention in my reply to polyxtroy yesterday, we have this project car running this concept and we have a high order in terms of HP for this pet project and it's installed in a bigger cc car than the nissan march with a very big turbo. It;s in it's final stage and once it's ready, we will strap on the dyno to see what figures will churn up and when these figures comes in...Keep you all posted on the development of this project OK :D

Cheers to you too.. :D

Cool man.. great to hear such projects being undertaken profesionally. Gerard could u point me to any sites. I am trying to study what & how controls the sequential indution. If u guys are looking for a guinea pig, I don mind putting my name down. I'm a crackhead for experimentation.

a quick reply to your questions.....1.8 GTI Kit (mitsubishi wiring & ecu)

RM5,500 + Installation charges
Parts include, custom made inlet manifold, re-conditioned supercharger unit with pulley, supercharger manifold, mounting brackets, supercharger belt, higher impedence injectors and ecu (ecu on exchange basis).

To achieve its maximum gains, you will need 2.5" exhaust, open pod air filter, 4-2-1 extractor...Optional items are iridium cold plugs and plugs wires..Not included.
If not, then you will still have very good torque and exceleration and sounds like a rotary engine but will also encounter choking at higher rpm to its limitation on the filter and exhaust...(in & out)

Warranty covers workmanship, parts fabricated and supercharger unit (limited)

Note: The engine should be in sound, well maintained with periodical maintanence.
Clutch should also be in fine form and not worn out clutch.

Regards
Sorry mate...i hope you can clarify this too. How much woul it be if the Supercharger unit is brand new?Do you have pictures on the modded SGTI? Would love to see it.

Can anybody tell me if the Kompressor used in Mercedes Benz is a Supercharger or not?

shelby& raikkonen

A new supercharger unit (alone) as per the same output as the re-con ones we are using....will set us back around RM6-7k minus the tax and freight...We did made enquiries and wanted to use new superchargers for our kit but the said price is a major set back as this would elevate the entire bolt on kit's price to around RM10 k plus.

Yes,! The one you read in hupertune some months ago was indeed our GTI and yes!, it's using a re-con supercharger.

These superchargers is a piece of hardware that is low in maintenance and difficult to break...I can safely say that because I've used supercharger in my kembara for for 3 years plus boosting at 1 bar (with other upgrades) and the supercharger in the GTI is now nearing it's 4th.

The beauty of superchargers as compared to turbochargers, is that these sc units uses it's own special oil in it's own oil reservoir for lubrication unlike turbo which uses the engine oil for lubrication, in a case of a damaged turbo, you will get loads of white smoke as oil leaks into the hot manifold and oil presure begins to drop, if you continue to drive, the engine oil presure will drop to a point where it will cause serious damage to the internals of the engine.... :o

Superchargers lubricating oil needs to be change every 12 months, cost is at around RM200 (plus workmanship). You can still drive the car normal, without boost IF the supercharger JAMS or the sc belt snaps, it won't cause any damage to the internals of the engine..

Hope I manage to clear some doubts for you guys on this matter... :D

Cheers

Yes, the word kompressor on merc's you see on the road is superchargers but they run on low boost.
Cheers

Time factor??. for which model...the 1.6 & 1.3 wira with mitsu wiring & ecu should be out around April latest. It's in it's late development stage of testing parts fabricated and fuel mapping...... :D .......Are you in a real hurry?. Keep your options open ya and if you could, wait a little longer and test drive it when it's ready...We are here to provide you with options for performance upgrade... :D

Do decide what you want your car to be...A drag racer cum weekend warrior or a daily driver with the right power curves at the right rpms with high torque.... :D

Cheers mate!

polyxtry... :D

I don't have any sites for you to refer to as we did all the hard work without refering to site's or overseas advise and for me, try & error is the way to go for this project. Sometimes we need to learn the hard and long method as this is what R&D is all about and you will understand more of it as it fails along :(

But this much I can tell you, it's something not easy to achive or do but we are very close to completing this pet project of twin charging system...Now it's being test on the road for reliability & durability. Since you are a great fan of this sort of induction method, you will be the first to know on the progress.... ;)

Once we get the bench mark, we could shift the idea or concept to other models as in your case decrease the size of everything...only worry is wether you have the working space in your engine bay or not....There is lots of fabrication work involved in such a project.....

Cheers mate and have fun in your research, maybe you could refer me to other site's should you chance upon one ya..Thanking you in adavance.. :D

tks for the explanation. indeed it help alot. now is awaiting for ur SC kit

gerard,

to be frank, i was considering a full modd from powerzone up to blue printing and stroker kit...that would cost around RM6k
the reason i was thinking of that is because i just want low to mid range rpm torque (preferably around 1000rpm-4000rpm)..

i opt out turbo because of fuel consumption issues and late torque coming in... so to me, it is useless unless i drive up to 200km/h everyday...

the reason i hold on to my project of the powerzone modd is because i have read many complains regarding high engine oil consumption after powerzone modd....something to do with timing.....

so now, i am open to your option and would want to see the torque curve from dyno.

gerard,

What about the time frame for Gti engine with Siemens ECU and wiring?
yeah...this would definately bring the package price down significantly.. :) . Wow...hmmmm <_<

protnosss

If you are interested in low end to mid range torque, or able to achieve max torque at very low revs then superchargers are for you....Not to undermine anyone or any tuning outfit here, NA modding has got it's limit and higher hp's are usually gained at very high rpms....Do hang in there a little while more and let's just say.....give our supercharger kit a chance to show you what it can do to your daily ride..... :D ....

handome_lala

GTI siemens should not take too long, perhaps in 2 months or so.....looking for sample car......hahaha :D ...

shelby

Price reduction, perhaps. ..but no promises ya, let me put it this way to you guys..If you could get a few orders going at once (bulk) of 3 -5, then we could really cut off some toppings (price) to you guys....what say you..... :D

Regards
Gerard & cheers... ;)
