Urahara-Sv, i jsut checked motor trader's new edition... they have around 4 FC for sale, 2 pretty much in stock condition, another one souped up a bit and the last one was with wide body kit... have fun shopping!! hehee...

I have a noob question here. can someone tell me what kind of engine is Mark5 or MK5? i have no idea what kind of engine is that. all i know 13b engines.. hehehehe...

Another question. Does any of RE club member knows the blue FD with the license plate J**16 owner? i'm damn interested in his car. Hoping anyone with some knowledge or know the owner can shed some light on the condition of the car.

hey man,the mark5 FC runs 13BT if im not mistaken, for the turbo variant, its just 13B-T.

The FC on this week 'Trader looks niceeeee

wooo... so mark 5 is just another name for 13B-T huh.. i see i see.. thanx thanx...

those FC too far to view them.. will go see the JB FD this weekend.. and see if i can get the cash to get it and join u guys for the meet up at Sepang...

Quote:Lets say i change black oil every 3,000 KM,my car has enough fuel and i use high end cooling systems,i hope someone can tell me the problems i will often encounter, how often do i need to rebuild engine (how many KM) and how much will it cost each time. And how do i know when to rebuild it?Will i need to wait till car completely breaks down before sending it for rebuilding ? The only thing that scares me now is that i MIGHT have to send my car for rebuilding once a month or something.A normal performance car needs overhauling only after about 50,000 KM or more.If RX7 FD3S needs rebuilding every 5000 KM or so,then THATS scary !!!!! =P

i think if need to rebult after running 5000 km, i wont buy this car liao lohh....soo scary lah..

last time i had saw in the RX7 FD3S technical data,,there had say the 13b engine need to rebult after running about 130,000 km....for the new engine lah..this is what i see in the technical data.....correct me if i'm wrong..

i think what you saw is correct. this is the same reading that i got after some research on the web. by the way, rubiling your engine every 5000km is no joke man. something wrong with your tuning?

yes i was agree that....for the rebult engine with correct setting ,running about 80k to 100k km is not the problum lah.....

my engine.. running around 97 K... but still quite okay.... haven't got problem yet.

basically,if you ask me..80-100k till a rebuild is also quite fast.Im having a good guess in between 150-200k for an all out rebuild.

Properly maintained and everything,no reason why it couldnt go more then 100k with good compression and everything.

Ooh...how I wish I was in his (Hanjackal) position now, all poised ready to plunge into rotary ownership. Bweh...

Anyway, since many more knowledgeable members here have answered most of the queries, I'll take you up on your 20B conversion inquiry.

First things first, it IS NOT a drop-in procedure as the 20B triple rotary has different mounting points and therefore, would not fit onto the standard 13B-REW's subframe. A new subframe would have to be fabricated and if done correctly with sound engineering principles it would cost...ALOT.

Even when you manage to stuff the damn thing in, you will kiss your 50/50 weight distribution (partly the reason why FD's and FC's are superb handling chassis's) out the window as there is extra weight in front of the car.

REAmemiya got around that weight distribution problem (for theri GT300 race machine) by shoving the bloody triple-rotor as deep as it can go into the middle of the car. If you were to do that, more fabrication research and COSTS.

And last but not least, a triple rotor generates a massive amount of power if it is turbocharged, somewhere close to the region of 500ps and counting, which in turn makes it a futile exercise in going straight, or even going at all if you do not have tyres to match (read: at the very least, semi slicks...which won't be too happy in wet conditions). Oh and start thinking about new gearboxes and drivetrain ancillaries pretty often too ^^

All said and done, you could go check out Pettit Racing's Banzai conversion, a triple rotary conversion in a package, though I'm not sure if they do it anymore...

I'm sorry if I have bored anyone...haven't posted in awhile, couldn't help myself from banging away at the keyboard >.< My apologies. Please correct me if I've given any wrong information.

Cheers

PS: the clear covered headlights that you were inquiring too, they're called sleek headlight kits...

there Jackal, our information taukeh is here.

I've seen 20B's pushing well around 600-700 horsepower on street trim (in the video's -_-)

wooo.... this is the first time i see sara-kun around posting such a thread. i bet he's here long b4 i knew what are cars. now i know another sifu that i can look up too... hehehe..

i rather stick to 13b, partly not much cost will be involve if i need to change the engine or rebuilding it, and secondly, the RM90 annual roadtax... hahhaha... i think 2 litre cars need more than 2k right? hhehee...

Yup alex he is a friendly and very helpful guy. A nice gentlemen.

U are right, RX7's road tax is the cheaper one among other sportcars like supra 3.0(RM2K+), NSX 3.0(RM2K+), Skyline 2.6(RM900~), Fairlady 3.5 (RM4300)....WRX,EVOs 2.0 (RM400)..

FYI, 13B (2 Rotors) is equivalent to 3.0cc.
