McLaren has been disqualified from the 2007 and 2008 F1 seasons

FVel; I know what you're saying and I completely agree.

I'm just trying to explain how and why it happened the way it has.

1 power button to blast away all McLaren Constructor points.....

their chief designer was caught red handed with the leaked Ferrari data. Its basically like getting caught with your pants down with another woman in a hotel room by your wife. It didn't matter if you were innocent, you are screwed.
this is exactly what i mean.

can someone share Shaggy's "it wasn't me" lyrics here.

wah, if those other smaller team, i think they all are finish next season also no need to join.

I thought the punishment was somewhat harsh. The FIA were pressured into handing a sentence down to Mclaren and the world record fine of 100 million is totally absurd. No matter how rich they say about Formula 1 team, 100 million is no joke and its basically taking like 1/5 out of a teams entire season budget. What Ferrari got 3 years ago on the team orders, seem paltry and 1 million for that shambolic act of fixing the race result is unjustified. In my opinion, you either disqualify them for the constructors race or you fine them 100 million. Either one, it would have been alot less punishing on Mclaren.

On the other hand, the reason why Mclaren faced a second enquiry is because they found new evidence on email liaison between Alonso, Coughlan and De La Rosa. According to the FIA statement, they issued a notice to 3 of Mclaren drivers namely Hammy, Alonso and PDLR and they were told to disclose any evidence they have with them, or risk having their licence suspended. In return of disclosing any evidence, they will be assured that the World Drivers Championship Title race will not be affected. Alonso and PDLR gave their statements while Hammy said he has no evidence. With that new evidence, FIA launched their 2nd enquiry that led into this punishment.

This got me thinking, has Alonso blew his final chance to make friends with Mclaren? Hammy's probably an obedient fella and he knows his future belongs to Ron Dennis and its better to be on Ron's good books. Alonso was noticably missing from the hearing on Thursday too, choosing to "focus" on the weekend instead of being at the hearing that would determine the immediate future of the team. He could have at least lent some morale support to the team, considering they've worked so hard to put him where he is this season. The spygate scandal aside, Alonso's body language this season tells me he's not a great driver like the 2 times world champion Mika Hakkinen. Even if he wins the 3rd title this season, it won't put him in the same league as Michael Schumacher or anyone else and this is simply because he doesn't act like one. Remember mid season when he was sulking away when his debutant team mate was earning lots of raves. He should have pulled his socks and concentrate on the driving instead of going public saying the team only wants 'the British driver' to win. These small skirmishes led to an unfriendly incident in Hungary when both drivers acted stupidly in blocking each other while causing so much embarassment to the team.

I'd like Alonso to win this season as it highlights what a quick and intelligent driver he is on the track. Off the track, he can be a real idiot. He lacks the gentleman and composure of a real world champion, something that differentiates Alonso to Schumacher. As such, i think this should be his last season in Mclaren, despite signing a 3 year contract. Even if he wants to stay, i think Ron should get rid of him and concentrate on Hamilton.

definitely good news to me as a ferrari supporter though i thought the fine was kinda harsh, wonder would there be any mitigation.

see the picture. enough said, stupid of mclaren to underestimate ferrari's influence in the FIA..

More twist to the spygate scandal. Apparently it was Ron Dennis himself that reported the new evidence to the FIA. It baffles me why Ron is shooting his own foot by reporting the new evidence.

For more info, refer to f1-live.com/en

because he keeps telling that no evidence shows that the team benefited from the confidential doc.
I would say Alonso is more obedient to Ron, not hammy.
And definitely there are more inside info that we don't know...

If you read the latest on f1-live, Max Mosley comes out saying Ron didn't report the new evidence but it was Alonso himself that did it. It stemmed from the argument they had in Hungary and that led to Alonso reporting those mails to Mosley. If indeed he was the one, i'd be real shamed to support a driver that apparently stabbed the team on the back. I can't imagine him doing it to kill of his team's chances of winning a title. Besides, by doing so he not only takes revenge on Ron and Hammy but he dissapoints the rest of the crew in Woking and Ilmor that has worked tirelessly to bring him the car thats won him races.

hehe i do not know alot bout all these... but i think i saw in the papers today tht alonso gave information in exchange for immunity.. ahaha...

If that was the case, then I think McLaren has no any other reason to keep Alonso in future as he is just a selfish driver.
No team in F1 will dare to hire Alonso as he never think of what is good for the team instead Alonso is good in back stabbing his F1 team.
Alonso won't change his habit.
It had happened to Renault and now to McLaren.

Give me a break, people.

If you want to talk about a freaking little backstabber, then Hamilton is as big a twat as any of them. In case people have a short memory, Hamilton made a scene about team orders at Monaco after he came second Alonso which prompted the FIA to investigate. In that instance, not enough evidence came to light but the fact is Hamilton tried to screw his own team.

He succeeded in getting the attention of FIA officials in Hungary when both him and his father talked to the FIA post-qualifying after the Alonso pit lane incident. By the way, Alonso blocked hamilton because Hamilton disobeyed team orders by passing Alonso. That, and the fact that he swored openly at Ron Dennis over the radio.....just go read the recent Hungary GP thread on this forum.

Can't really blamed Alonso for being pissed with his current team. You don't see him acting like this at Renault where he had a good working relationship.

Hmmmm, I can say this is one of the reasons i dont like F1... it is just plain stupid....

I dont care if they take information from Ferrari or any team bcoz F1 only the same team winning... n other teams losing n etc....

I would love to see all cars standard...

N also I realise F1 nowdays have no co-operation between racer n engineer, IMO.

All this scandal just want to make F1 interesting.... I wish F1 was like the past.

*looks at Japan GT n follows the highlights...

Lets forget about the issue for a while...

Tonite pole starter:
(BELGIUM/Spa-Francorchamps)

-Jarno Trulli
-Heikki Kovalainen

Place your bets gentlement....

clearly, to hire ex-staff of a rival team is not an option to be considered. that may be a set up. heh heh

anyway, ferrari wins 7th constructor title in 9 years this season. bravo!

Not really immunity but Max Mosley wrote to both drivers asking if they have any evidence and if such evidence was submitted, they are assured their title chances won't be affected. That means no matter what, they're still able to win the WDC. Hamilton replied he doesn't have while Alonso gladly submitted his evidence that led to Mclaren's punishment.

Alonso stinks for what he did to the team. I don't know, he could have challenged Ron Dennis to a boxing match for all i care. But he let the whole team down. From the mechanics who fix his cars, the pitcrews and down to the janitor in their factory. Their effort in bringing him a car to race is all futile as the team cannot win the Constructors anymore. Let me tell you this, the Constructors title is worth more than anything else to these crews more than the Drivers title. To me, Alonso's actions was meant to hit out at Ron over the incident at Hungary but by doing that, he's angered the whole team. Yet at Belgium now, they're working tirelessly to win a race.

I'll be rooting for Hamilton now, Alonso's as good as a opposition to me now.

mind I ask what Alonso hand over?
IIRC, it couple of emails, but anyone has any idea the contents of the emails?
