dudes..just wan some feedback from those who have used both these types of i/c b4...

1. how many seconds lag if using vr4 i/c?? how many seconds lag if using standard i/c??
2. im more of a pick-up driver...prefer acceleration than top speed...use standard gsr i/c??
3. heard that using vr4 i/c on gsr will have better top end and also takes better care of the turbo....any other benefits??

cheers...

vestax kor kor...since u r browsing the posts...pls advise on this noob questions of mine... :D

GSR STD Intercooler
Pros:
Safemoney... dun need custom routed pipings and provides the optimum results.

VR4 Intercooler
Pros:
Looks cool... ablity to stay cool much longer compared to STD i/c therefore in a hot place like m'sia.. better to have slightly larger i/c.. u won't feel the lag difference. Your car also nampak garang... that is the best part...

Cons:
RM500 for a second hand unit + RM500 for custom piping.

gsrs mostly would like to go 1 bar right? so get a bigger cooler in m'sia oh ..

aiks....reli no lag difference if use vr4 i/c kah?? hhmmm...fren told me got abt 3 second lag...

so if using vr4 i/c, there r 2 types of piping route to chose, rite...shortcut and normal longer route...is the longer route the one which goes over the exhaust manifold?? and the shortcut goes thru the body, hence the need to cut a couple of holes thru the bumper?? shortcut shud b better ma rite..summore mebe can save a little on the pipe cost...

Ms Jun and our Waikitfire are both GSRs... both on VR4 FMIC...can ask them kwa

wildboar.. if u have the budget.. i strongly advice u to use vr4 i/c lor.. dun need waste money if u wanna upgrade later.. coz a lot of custom piping work. do it when u transplant the engine. and.. when u wana come find me?

but dun b surprised when i pull up in a cikai iswara ya...me still lookin for a buyer for me iswara..dun wanna go thru 2nd hand car dealers...they offer dem low price...will call u ya...

hmm....

if i'm just running a stock GSr, is the existing ic enough arr?

i tot the standard is 0.7 bar for the GSR?

if i just running 0.7, is the stock ic with the Gsr enuf arr?

thanks....

standard 0.7 boost, the stock GSR i/c should be sufficient la,well at least tht's wat i'm using la rite now, hehe, boosting at 0.7 bar as well

how much does an evo3 or evo 4 i/c cost ah?is it even better than the VR4 i/c?
custom piping would cost about RM500 ah?wah so expensive ah.....wah lao

I thnk GSR's stock i/c is too small for malaysia's hot weather. VR4 is the best size. If up boost 1 bar, then it won't lag much.

RM500 for hoses? if its your normal stock rubber hoses, tats pretty steep price to pay.

Stainless steel I/C pipings cost about RM800.

no i wasn't referring to the stock rubber hose tht i'm using rite now :)
i was referring to those custom route stainless stell pipings la
whuaaah,so expensive one meh?RM800 bucks my goodness.....the i/c itself also doesnt cost tht much mah.....wah lao eh....must save up more lo
how much is an evo3 or evo4 i/c ah?

700 bucks for the i/c...plus another 800 bucks for the custom route stainless stell piping....waaah...gotta save up a lot more la....geez...
thanks for the info anyway :)

good to upgrade to VR4 i/c. many ppl did this. the lag issue is not big problem compare to the benefits u get.

the lag caused by bigger i/c is not as bad as the lag caused by using big turbo.

aiyah, lag sooooo minimal lah. y so scared. entering competition ke? on a stock TD04 huffer on normal 0.6 -0.7 bar boost starts to build up at around 2,500rpm. no probz laerr..

actually stock GSR i/c is sufficient for stock boosting 0.6 bar
but if u go for higher boost.might as well get a bigger i/c..i dun think there is any diff using big i/c..it will lag oni if u use those GTR i/c which is darn big and huge..anywa if ur running on TD04 , VR4 i/c is jus nice..
unless u change to a bigger turbine den there is another story for that le..confirm lag one compare to stock turbine..but u will get the G-Force at mid rpm
