Anybody pumps their tyre with nitrogen air ??

I was offered this service in my area last 2 weeks with RM 15 charges for 4 tyres. They claim lighter, less bumpy, less flat tyres percentage, comfortable and less air out-flow from the tyres.

True ?? Worth it ??

Comments. Thanx, have a nice day.

Yes. Definately... no leaks, I only check / refill every 6 months. Tires are a lot cooler n wear less than normal air.

Another plus... u can mix normal air n NO together for emergencies. Since the O2 molecules are smaller, it tend to leak out faster when compared to NO which has bigger molecules.

AFAIK the only advantage is much more stable tyre pressure than air coz air got water vapor from compressor that can expand when the tyre heats up. and the brag factor lah :)

actually i dont really believe in this nitrogen thingy...as we know the free air consist of 78 percent of nitrogen adi...wuts the point to get 100 percent of it? sumore got to pay! IMO...when ppl try sumthin like those bulshit micro compressor la apa la, they tend to feel psychologically those so claimed differences...save fuel but more power? isnt that odd?!!!!!

Ya..the Nitrogen air really works!! It gives many benefits to the tyres... Dont compare like what what microcompressor la...this is about tyre.. tyre need special air...
This nitrogen very good because ..
Usually normal tyre is very hot when drive on the road and after i put the nitrogen into my tyre. It's more cooler and it brings longer life to your tyre!!!

More than that, less bumpy too when driving onto bumpy road if compare to normal air!!! IT's true..Coz im using those air on my car..

where the place...after reading all the comment..i also intrested to put the nitrogen gas to my tyre...pls let me know the location..thanks

i donno other places which offers nitrogen pumped into tyres besides Eneos; Kepong or 1U)...

;)

I personally believe and have been told from friends who use this as another business hype and another microcompressor.

The only scientific function I think it gives is maintain pressure of tire. Reduce tire weight?

dosent cooler tyre = less traction = less drip on the road = easier to lose control at high speed?
easier to get into hydroplanning?

correct me if i'm having the wrong idea..

cooler air ... the preassure remain the same , more less the same . so the pressure won't increase much .
compare to normal O2 , the air is hotter , and expand more ... then the pressure is higher ..causing lesser grip .

nitrogen doesnt make the tyre "cooler". just when the tyre heats up to operating temperature, the internal pressure does not increase significantly from the cold (not moving) pressures. thats why its used in F1, coz F1 cars handling is very sensitive to tyre pressure changes.

but for a road car i still think its an overkill.

my experience: for a supercar in MSS, the cold tyre pressure is say 1.5 bar filled with normal compressed air. and after about 3 hard laps around the sepang circuit, the tyre heats up to its operating temperature around 170 degrees celcius. at that temperature the tyre pressure increases to about 1.7 bar, thats only 0.2 bar from the cold tyre pressure. for cars running around town, the tyres will not heat up too much anyway so why fill RM15 into ur tyres when you can use it to fill ur tummy?? :)

As mentioned earlier, the normal air we breath is already 78% nitrogen. Not much difference for 100% nitrogen. Of course it's up to you la, if you feel it's worth for the 22% difference. At RM1 per tyre to refill nitrogen, I dun mind la.

Filling Nitrogen Into Tires

I know a place. Father's friend's shop.

BP station in ss18, the one directly beside Shell. Has the CKL signboard. Subang ppl should know where this is. Price i'm not sure, but should be around the same la.

Cheers
