okla...can burn cigarette...no need to buy lighter...it`s normal...no need to worry...
btw, if u`re using stainless steel manifold be extra carefull...cause can crack easily..
otherwise, it`s ok...for my opinion and experience la...

A lean or rich fuel condition will not cause your manifold to glow.

In any event, the ideal mixture should infact generate the most heat so if its to glow on this basis, your mixture is good..
 
for the manifold to glow after hard spirited runs is normal but to have it glow so early is dangerous. And besides jinkl has already stated the problem (possible problem) by turning up fuel you get less glow. Good work jinkl.
