where is the best and good place to service a turbine.. just wanna know..
my turbo kong'ed ... leaking .. bearing also bad shape.. no boost .. no pickup hehe..
anyone else experience like this ah ?

jinkl... i think ur waiting for someone to tell u to throw the turbo and buy a bigger badass turbo?

throw lar, get garret td05 from danny oni lar kaka

u sure or not it is the turbo leaking? Have you checked your piping or hoses? If u confirm that it is a turbo problem, then it's time to upgrade la..what r u waiting for..heheheh garret 16g,18g or 20g all waiting for u. Brand new virgin turbos should have much longer lifespan compared to used and abused 2nd hand ones.

What turbo r u using now? If there is a budget constraint then maybe u can opt for repair kits also, but if the damage is too serious, the repair kits + workmanship don't come cheap also, not far away from getting a new turbo.

Haven't come across personally, mostly 16g. But if I were to get a new one I'd go for 18g, thats the max using original gsr/vr4 housing ie. plug and play only. Price difference also not much. Anything bigger than that you'd need more modifications.

just curious, why is it the max? would 18G be too laggy without any avcr controlling boost?

due to housing size 18g is the biggest turbine for stock gsr/vr4 housing. In other words, it is plug and play to replace your existing turbo. Anything bigger you need to modify your exhaust and intercooler pipings to bigger ones, not to mention lag.

18g has bigger compressor wheel compared to 16g, the rest of the parts are the same size. Lag wise, shouldn't be that much difference compared to 16g, estimated 3000-3500rpm to reach full boost.

jus need sum info guys..for a TD05H twin fin from Eclipse..isit 16g/18g or mebi lower than 16g..jus need sum info..

Use Tong Turbo to either repair or get another turbo. I got my hybrid turbine for him and was very satisfied with the quality of work and the price. When I compare the price of the turbo with the second-hand turbos from halfcut shops, his is damn cheap!

hehe lucky strike :)
my halfcut shop agrees to replace the turbine for me :)
by the way. how much is it to service the turbine ..
thanks people..
as my foreman said.. the bearing is gone and turbine leaking..
cos when boost masuk time.. the turbine bising gila like a fan touching the sides ..

thats very lucky the halfcut shop allows to exchange.

Service kit last time when I asked Tong Turbo around RM500 but that was for single fin td05, not sure any extra workmanship cost. Also you need to remove and re-fit your turbo, Tong only repairs it.

usually they give a month or two warranty, if anything happen can just bising at them

any sifu here...
is it major service on the turbine means changing the conpressor and exhuault fin also??

jinkl.. ur turbine housing ok?? i mean the spoil piece..
if ok.. then i maybe can buy it from ur h/c shop.. cheap cheap lah ask them to let go..

and in this case.. i take the turbo to tong turbo repair it.. replace the bearing and fin and balanced it.. will be around 600? or more..??

if like this then maybe the kong turbo i can take it like around 250 and repair it with 650 or 750..
will be jsut 1k for considerable ''recon'' td05h 16g??

if this case work.. then will be a good business if people here claimed tat the turbo is fully service and let go at 1.3k like that by which they just take the kong turbo to repair it and sell?? ;)

erm.. good business what??

i plan to do myself one piece if this assumption can work.. at least i save alot of money ler... fully recon td05 16g from mr.tong is 1.4k ler...

i just 1k or less get the same thing if my assumption can work..

all the sifu can plz explain to me??

why buy recond lar, when danny is selling brand new(!!) with warranty... 6 months iirc... for a couple hundred more

i think recon ok what.. at least is from mr. tong's work..
if the brand new warranty is more than 1year then different talk..
coz normally turbo won kong easily for jsut 6 months even do is recon if dun overboost.. in my case i just wan to have 0.9bar like tat.. most turbine can hold this boost easily i think...

so if buy brand new.. it kong at 7th months.. wow.. jsut wasted my few hundred.. i slow and poor bai...

somemore have to think of his mainkotek.. need to save as much money as i can for his mainkotek next year man.. :P

futhermore.. tong say recon turbo won kong easily from his sales history.. those kong mostly due to meachinic fixing problem coz changing turbine have to care for the smthing like oil pressure .. i not sure.. but his explaination still within my understanding range so i accept the theory loh...

but now i still doubt on the question i ask b4..
dolly sifu.. u got any idea about the case i assump in the previous massage???

new turbos last a lifetime of your car usage unless it is being abused, it won't kong between a few months. Those turbos that u buy from halfcut shops, they were previously new, by the time u buy from halfcut shop most of them already 8-10 years old, and still working fine. This shows how long lasting a new turbo is.

u must be refering to someone else, cause i still a kampung newbie :(

i have no idea about buying turbine cheap and selling it for more after servicing, heck i shud be the last person to give advice on business

me still on td04 mar, no need td05 yet, but if me, i'll pay a lil more and get a brand new one from danny. its just a paranoia thingy cause i'm stuck in the middle of nowhere, and the nearest "decent" workshop that i know of is about an hour away.
