Streamyx crazy

guys i wana ask since i upgraded to 1Mbps speed..my connection keep discon veri frequent..wat is wrong? from wht i heard from TElekom, saying my fon line not stable..nvm i change it recently, but problem stil exist..then they said another possibilities are the network settings..

while im in WARCRAFT game, ill get discon forwhile den connect again..it happens veri frequent..pls tell me wht is the probs and wht can i do wif it..

im using ADSL modem KASDA KE318D (original package from TELEKOM)
btw im using router NETGEAR MR814.. i thought my router setup so i tried using PC > MODEM but still probs exist..tried by-passing splitters still probs exist..

1. check telephone line condition, clear? can call in and out.
2. how long is your telephone line lenght? too long can cause, slow connection and also frequent disconnection.
3. do a fresh format, if problem still persist afterthat .. try installing anti-spyware program like 'spybot'
4. delete cookies, delete files
5. configure your dns addresses

im experiencing exactly da same thing as u .......da technician came 2 my house & said my modem rosak but tested my modem at my frenz place & it was okie......

been goin out like dis for months adee...getting really frustrated

no 1 .. no prob with call in or call out ..cause streamyx doesn't need to call when connect

no 2 .. this maybe your prob ...the lengh or Quality or ur copper cable.. maybe it's cause by the bad Quality of the cable which can't support to much of speed. call ur installer or telekom person which maintain ur are for streamyx to check your copper quality. they should have one test gear to test your cable. that test gear can tell how much your line Quality can go. If really this the prob, then maybe can ask him to find better line for u, or change ur package to 512.

modem n router oso could cause this prob.

or do u make 'pararel' phone in ur hse ...if do ..please put a splitter on that phone ..

keng : yeah man..sumtimes veri frestrated over streamyx..lots of probs..too bad Maxis broadband oni got 512 package..and the modem itself cost RM 5++ already..monthly payment around RM 11+

sigh..certain area oni got this service..
currently in USJ, Puchong and one more place forgot name..

[/b][/quote] 1> yeah man..streamyx dun need to call in or out but it still needs the fon line to be clear and steady rite? 2> the length is fine i guess..cus lastime wen i was using 384 wif the same lengh of fon cable ther is no prob.. the techician came to my place and told me to replace the fon line cus rusty oredi, so i did like wht he said..but prob still exist..techician said the connection wont be stable oni but din say dat fon line cant support the speed of connection.. btw today i called telekom, they told me im still in 512 still in progress of upgrading..but weeks back one of the telekom fella told me im in 1Mbps oredi..so which is true and which is false..? ok modem and router acceptable rite..but i tried using PC > Modem oni..by-passing my splitter and do all the basic stuff..means im running 1 PC wif modem oni..still got connection probs.. and for the phone thingy, the line applied is specially for stramyx oni..as in hs fon got A number and for streamyx got B number..so i guess ther is no diff between putting a splitter or not..anyway i tried both ways wif and without splitter but still the same..it makes no difference.. ::: at this moment my connection is stable..mebi due to i called telekom and complain .. usually connected for 5 minutes den discon for 30 seconds den connect again, den dicon den connect,..but this time connected for like 30 minutes still no probs..hopefully it is the streamyx telekom side and not my side le..i guess theres an error in their side.. btw wen they said i oni got 512 speed, at times i test my speed and i got like around 7++ max..so i duno which speed i am..but at times i got like 5++ above 512 le..and sumtimes i got 3++ wen all the 3 PC is on..sharing speed i guess..

[/b][/quote] ok ..modem n router cleared ... phone share clear ... could be ur line ...or telekom line ... ussually this prob ..it's theline the length and the quality is different issue .. maybe the length is ok ... but the quality .. cause when using 384 n 512 is ok . then upgrade to 1MB got prob ...tat y maybe can ask the telekom people to test ..(btw which are live) .... maybe ur line quality not so good ..cannot support 1mb ...so always got prob la .....intermitant ..

for ur info, im using the modem wif router and 2 PCs are on sharing .. so i guess my router got no probs..

i jus tested my speed wif speedometer..
if it is 512 i bet it wont go up until this speed rite?

btw i called and complain TELEKOM bout it..they said they will check for me..this morning they called me and ask me if my connection is still ok..
anyway this whole day connection was fabulous..no discon probs..ill see in a week later..if all the time like dis den ill surely support streamyx..cus usually probs will be solved for like 1 week oni den probs come again..dats why im fcuked up wif their service like dis..no complain den have to face the probs..i think i can count wif my own fingers how many times i called telekom..

i just installed streamyx about a month ago... installed on 19th november...
da latest bill came a few days ago... dated at 19th December...

da funny part is they charge me 2 months worth of usage... im currently using RM99 per month package so my bill totaled to RM273 ( Rm75 registration n RM198 for subsription fees) meaning they have charged 2 months worth!!!

WTF?? im not going to putih putih let Telekom bully leh! Anybody else experience this? Anyway i think i'll only go Telekom to 'king soh' after new year la... demand an explanation...

I just got my router and plan to install it,
once i install , i have set the IP and so on, and also reset my ADSL modem, which is telekom provided ZTE model. so once i reset it, it can't work anymore. i have no idea,

then i have called up the streamyx, and they sent one technician over, it makes it worst~ now my comp network card can't connect to my moden at all~ POWER light on, LAN light off and DSL light blinking ..

any problem ? my comp can detect my networkcard, my comp also can detect the router....

called up the technician . told me they gonna come and fix it .. but until now no news from them..

cause u say u reset the modem ....

maybe need to reconfigure back .... or the modem kong liao .....

for months!
called telekom for more than 6 times but the problem still exist!
everytime ask me to do this and that, test this and that, go through those stupid trouble shooting that are totally useless...But it's ok...i can follow...BUT FOR HOW MANY TIMES MORE?!? WHATS THE POINT? LOL!!!

Sent 2 mokeys to my house...
those monkeys...sat on my bed 1 leg on it...and put everything onto my bed...sing like in their house...shake the legs until my whole bed shake...whisle...scratch here and there...YUCKS!!!

Uses their modem to test and comdamned my modem...blaiming that's my modem problem...So I said no, then they leave their modem here for me to use, say will come back in a few days time...and guess what? their modem is more or less the same...so? both modem kong? or what? LOL~! and i'm using my own modem now and with their modem in hand...still not yet back for their modem.
And problem still not yet fix!!! But I've already gone through all those checks that GSR5559 did...

And the worst part is...i won't know when the connection will get bad! the line is so silly! like a person! depending on mood! ARGH!!!

melnikor : yeah man, now is my 2nd day of connection..so far so good...no probs exist and i checked my speed, it shows around the same speed as i posted earlier on..

newgen : hahah..guess wht, this is wht my gf experienced from a tech wen he came over..

Tech : Wah , senang sangat tak payah kerja, macam kita susah susah cari makan..(hinting veri sarcasticly)

btw if u reset ur modem , i dun think u will face this prob,,cause i reset my modem sumtimes but nothing happen..usually the Router will auto detect the IP of the modem ..or mebi oni my router got this function..
it is like Windows XP got auto detect for those software..

try do this:

1> Off ur PC
2> Off ur Router and modem and plug out all the cables
3> Wait for like 10 minutes
4> On ur pc again
5> Plug in all the cables to ur modem and router
6> On Router first den wait forwhile den oni on the modem
7> If can den congrats or else i duno wht to do liao..

cus wen i subcribed for the Telekom modem , they cant do shits about router settings, so i cant online at all using their modem wif my router..so i did all the ways posted above and i can online oredi..
