Stiffer Engine Mount - DIY

the worn out mounts, are recycled for the casing, not the rubber.
in my case, i had a jig made to press out the rubber and it's bushing.

with the empty casing left, i then had aluminium machined to fitted in my solid rubber bush and then this was inserted via a hydraulic press. (very tight fit mar)

use silicon to fill the hole......can absorb vibration yet solid enof

got the idea 2 years back but nvr do it.....lazylahhhh! mounting not so eay to take outler....

What sort of silicon glue would withstand such high stress without peeling or falling out? Aquarium silicone? By the way what type of silicone glue is used in for aquarium tanks? Seems to stick much better than normal silicone made for sealing gaps only.

industrial type.....move xpensive iis till under rm20lor per stick.

but remember to do it layer by layer, if not it dry very very slowly if u do it in 1 short

so , in order to diy that engine mount and fill it in with some stuff';s we need to take out he engine first right?? that one how to diy ler? unless titan can help take out the engine lar....and i think that would be like 4 - 5 hours or more to take out an engine, so how ah? :unsure:

put a jack on the bttom part of the engine, jack the engine up abit, not too much, then unscrew the mouting, do 1 by 1 if not engine fall out!

mayb some of the car involve more then the steps i mention, iswara is pretty simple...

okie tested my new solid engine mounts

the car, no slop, just go. and go and go.
change gear, and go.

last time got lag in power delivery

but the vibration pretty bad... alot of things shaking!

i had this problem with my mount..
when i go over bump(too fast)....kringg!!!~~from the eingine compartement

when i shift gear...especially 1st-3rd gear..worst lor..sumtime when i brake also kringgg....ot i tekan then don;t tekan..then the mountings are like..kringgg..krangg..kringg..krang...

i think my mounting are gone la..

normally how much is mountngs?

my SLK's are RM45-70 (different size ma)

1st: i dunno how to take our your mounts
2nd: once with the mounts out, it's damn easy to 'stiffen' it, just by applying automotive silicone.
3rd: i wont be responsible any damage......
4th: costed me almost RM250 (T_T) cry man..........


now the car's shaking like a fucking vibrator.. certain girls may love it, muahahahaha.

My Corolla AE111 also shocking ,i think because of the Rebber Mounting gone..

Intend to replace it..But original one damn expensive....

Where can get rubber mounting with reasonable price ??

Buy it and ask fren workshop to install it.

alantan, ur car nvr change mounting b4 izit? bcarefull...cos if the mounting breaks, ur engine will fall lower n cos u ur transmition rod as well....
