For those who has Astro be prepared to strap in your seat belt.
From today onwards 16 NOV 2005 until 20 NOV 2005. Discovery Channel is documenting about illegal street racings, drifting, car modification etc....

Street Racing: Pedal to the Metal 18 NOV, 10 pm
Supersonic: pushing the Envelope 20 NOV, 10 pm

"Since the beginning of time, the need for speed has driven men and women to
their limits and beyongd. Get connected with the human quest to push velocity threshold-
whether behind the wheel of a death-defying race car or breaking the sound barrier in a military fighter jet. Go behind the scenes in the world of illegal street racing; learn about sub-culture of car modification and the thrills of speed drifting. "

I watched it just now!! haha..quite chun lah..i only got really intrested when they were featuring about the japan scene..mad fellas..

Yeah... out of the US, Mexican, UK and Japan street racing scenes, Japan rocks... highway battle and drifto!!

The drag scene in Mexico is a little crazy, too many people too close to the road side..!! like watching WRC...
and if you noticed, they all drag with the starter so damn close to the cars, just one body size. In Malaysia at least its on a 3 lane hiway, with starter having plenty of room...

sigh...manage to see the last 10 minutes only last night n this morning...cool...the US dude bring their muscle cars all the way to Madison Av early in the morning just to have a nice burnt out...crazy fellas

in da documentary when da police came, all just simply watch police drive by or they dispurse away slowly to another place to race...

but here, spectators can also 'kena'...

Yesterday's documentary was talking about street racing in different countries. I think its trying to say different countries have different style.

I love the Jap guys where they drift around a industrial area then police came they all go for touge drifting. The Jap open their tuning shop until so late wan ah ? They guy with the bimmer went to the shop dunno what time lah but still can help him change brake pads.
Those drifter also did say something technical about tyre choosing for drifting.

Crazy Americans, bring all their race tune drag machine to downtown area for burnout and drag in the morning. Got notice the part where a guy pick up all the tyre ash left on the road still burning with fire wan. The drag together wan about 4 to 5 cars in a time.

The Mexican modified chevy very cun lah. got electronic suspension system wan somemore. can lowered or lift up. Ppl stand some damn close to the race wan lah damn dangerous man.

At Australia also got street racing. can see whole bunch of cars riding along the road. Almost 30 to 40 cars.

Those most impressive thing is the police is US. The really know about racing. The police guy can even tell why a burnout mark looks different. they catch car by seeing which car is modified like a race car. The police also know why a wheelie bar is fitted.

I noticed that for every part, there is only one repeat. So for instance tonite the Biker Girlz is on 10pm, if u missed it, the next time slot is next day 6am in the morning.

I think they purposely try not to give this show too much air time.. maybe the government think this speed series is encouraging illegal racing...hmm....
