Shift-shock on auto transmission

Hi,
I'm thinking of turbocharging my auto car. I read somewhere that if I full throttle & change gear at the same time, the auto transmission will experience a shift-shock during the split-second of gear change, causing a spike in the running boost. How do I overcome this problem?

Apparently there is something called the relief valve that is able to lower/control the shift shock. Thanks for any useful tips/advice

what's ur ride?

my experience on auto turbo ride
floor the pedal then when it time to change the gear just lift your pedal and press back.

BUT

never shift gear like u always do on manual. otherwise, put aside some extra RM for the new/recond gearbox

HKS use to sell something called a shift shock BOV.
but its been phased out.
The TT supra n fairlady has something similar fitted on their auto tranny which works in tandem with loading of the tranny.
not 2 sure of the mechanics behind it but should b quite simple, ie when auto tranny is about 2 shift, vacuum would activate the BOV, or somethink thereabouts.

My ride is a 2002 Hyundai Coupe......auto tranny comes with tiptronic. So what u mean is, before the auto tranny changes gear automatically, I just lift my accellerator and floor it again after changing gear? Any difference if using tiptronic?

I assume this shift-shock only applies to gear change. Shouldn't be much of a problem when the turbo kicks in at high revs. True or not?

Where to get the relief valve? don't want to accidentally screw up my auto tranny :blink:
