Okay, i'm just sharing what i think of LCDs with you. It's nothing discouraging though, "just my 2 cents"

If you're planning to buy an LCD screen, do not think that it's wasting money on buying an expensive LCD like a Samsung. It isn't considered expensive actually.

When you're buying an LCD, you have to know that, a CRT(The normal monitors) and the new CRTs have the best refresh rate, resolution, colour and detail (mark me if i'm wrong at any aspects).

So why are they expensive LCDs? To cope up with the quality you get from CRTs, that's why.

If you're planning to buy an LCD for picture and moving picture quality, do not think, buying a 15" LCD for 1k is a waste. LCD screens, you're gonna deserve the quality with what you've paid for.

One more thing, buying brandless... Warranty? How well does the LCD perform compared to the good branded ones? How long would it take, to get a pixel DEFECT. This is the scary part, pixel defect is when you see a dot(pixel), pink in colour, when it's suppose to be blue like your background. What happens if you get a few pixels defected? Thinking of a new monitor? 500 coulda bought you a nice Flat CRT. Sell the LCD? Who wants a defected, non-brand monitor? Hopefully there's someone.

I'm using a Samsing 152S 15" and i bought it for 1050 last year. One year used, screen is fine like new.

One more thing, remember to check the picture on the LCD you're buying. Make sure there are NO PIXEL DEFECTS before handing in the cash. Remember, write in your warranty in a period stated with the warranty form.

Any questions, i'll be happy to answer and share what i know. :)

Need pricelist? go to www.lowyat.net .. check out the left column .. different shops pricelist available for download. :D

When you plan to buy a PC, you must know why/what u use it for?
Some document work? Playing games? and most importantly your budget ..

IMO, the Mobo (mother board), Processor, Graphic Card, Sound Card, PSU (Power Supply Unit) .. is better to opt for better ones. Those like casing, mouse, keyboard, floppy, cd-rom, dvd-rom .. no need ler .. get those cheap one will do. If you are a Gamer, get a better optical mouse and headphone.

PC is getting cheaper and cheaper nowadays. B)

back to LCD thing....me using samsung 152T which cost me rm1250...but i'm happy with it,if wanna claim warranty, can go to samsung at KLCC,the staff told me one...dunno got tipu or not laa...but i hope nothing wil go wrong laa...
if budget really tight, then go for crt ler,but no need so big until 19' ler...gila heavy,u will regret it ...hahaha

Ah, looks like FTO is using the same LCD as i am, but FTO's has a DV-IN feature which mine doesn't. Oh well, good to know someone's happy with branded LCDs.

2.8c? Just built one pc for a friend the other day, but a p4 2.8e. P4 2.8c(512 cache) and 2.8e(1MB cache) first hand can get about RM665, both same price.

If you can find second hand, hope you do, goodluck. :)

I'm happy with my 1.6Aghz. I know it doesn't cost as much as the newer intel processors but, it's running at 2.35ghz with stock cooling ;) Save money...
