Okay, i'm just sharing what i think of LCDs with you. It's nothing discouraging though, "just my 2 cents"
If you're planning to buy an LCD screen, do not think that it's wasting money on buying an expensive LCD like a Samsung. It isn't considered expensive actually.
When you're buying an LCD, you have to know that, a CRT(The normal monitors) and the new CRTs have the best refresh rate, resolution, colour and detail (mark me if i'm wrong at any aspects).
So why are they expensive LCDs? To cope up with the quality you get from CRTs, that's why.
If you're planning to buy an LCD for picture and moving picture quality, do not think, buying a 15" LCD for 1k is a waste. LCD screens, you're gonna deserve the quality with what you've paid for.
One more thing, buying brandless... Warranty? How well does the LCD perform compared to the good branded ones? How long would it take, to get a pixel DEFECT. This is the scary part, pixel defect is when you see a dot(pixel), pink in colour, when it's suppose to be blue like your background. What happens if you get a few pixels defected? Thinking of a new monitor? 500 coulda bought you a nice Flat CRT. Sell the LCD? Who wants a defected, non-brand monitor? Hopefully there's someone.
I'm using a Samsing 152S 15" and i bought it for 1050 last year. One year used, screen is fine like new.
One more thing, remember to check the picture on the LCD you're buying. Make sure there are NO PIXEL DEFECTS before handing in the cash. Remember, write in your warranty in a period stated with the warranty form.
Any questions, i'll be happy to answer and share what i know. :)
