Hey Guys, I am a noob in ICE.. first time into ICE by the way.
I had Rm3k Budget on these stuff below :

HU - ALpine 9843
Comp - Alpine Type R ( Front)
Amps- Alpine F345 ( 4 Channel - 2 for the comp and bridge for the sub)
Sub- Not decided yet ( Any Reco)

Is there a better Combo beside that the above..( Preferbaly Alpine or SS)
But will accept others as well.

By the way.... I listen mostly to Trance music... but somtimes into RnB and chinese song..
Shud i consider myself As SPL ?... Altho i dont like loud... but i like puchy and solid bass...!

Thanks in advanced SIFU..!!

should add the type-r sub to your set up, it really rocks. only thing is the amp not very powerful, if u can upgrade to more powerful one would be better la for your type of music.

hey Zenn...

Read about ya Jazz both at KF website and yours... awesome set u have there....

respect man...by the way congrats to u for getting 2nd place ....

Hm... so i need a larger amp...huh..!! by the way... is alpine set suitable for SPL settings..?

Or is there a better combo?... i.e Bravox , SS etc....

The set mention above was quoated by KF@ Aman Suria... u shud know them more than me rite..!! :)

Thanks for ya feed back ..

BY the way .... I am Having a Jazz AS well... Love ya A pillar installation...:)

Please define what do u mean by SPL in your defination, a lil bit of bass does not qualify u to be an spl kaki. If u look at Iasca Competition, when u play SPL u can't even sit inside your car enjoy the boom boom boom without making yourself deaf, so please tell me you are spl or sq kaki?

Listen Zenn taiko advise he is good!!

So what is SQ nad SPL actually? I have involed in ICE for sometime already but still don't know what they mean actualy...

ahah...erm..well... after read all the pages and post in this ICE section.

What i get to know is... SQ- Sound Quality , SPL - Sound Pressure Level

Betul kah?

HM..But heard some ppl says that...Trance , Techno , dance music... falls into SPL cat.
As there isnt much vocals and concerntrate more on BAss Boom Boom Boom..!!

So basically its still consider as SQ ? Unlesss u have the whole trunk loaded with woofers huh?

:)

to me SPl as usual is about hitting the highest db sq don come into the picture at all while sq is about the best sq setup which in term produce the best sq like real thing!

Nolah, my setup is Pioneer 5750mp, Caliber 2 channel 5020, Lightning Audio B300.2, RDS 12" woofer, 1 pair 4.5" JVC 2 way speaker and 1 pair 6.5" Rockford Fosgate Fanatix X. Is this consider SQ or SPL? I use this setup mainly for my techno and trance music.

my price is rm1k plus a bit oni  don dream of gettiing that price unless u get a second hand unit. Btw the swing face so far no problem already use it for more than 5 months.

My seas sub 10 inch is for sq, but it can beat any of your 12 inch orrdinary sub in term of sq wise!

btw i can get a 12 inch Phase Evolution Aliante 12 Ltd sub anytime to play courtesy of my good friend provided he is in the country.

aliante!! @.@

haha today i met progressive in aman suria, hehe diam-2 only never intro, say la youre from ZTH

anyway recommended him a large ported box for more kick to suit his type of music (techno, trance, etc) as well as to compensate the lack of power from the amp to get lower & louder bass...

if u r looking for a solid bass for hip hop and trance, the only way is get a 15" SVC or DVC sub. JBL GTO series is the cheap and good sub for u.
i oledi do experiment on it b4. trying 2 pcs Kicker Com VR then 2 pcs of 12" rockford punch, still losing to a pc of 15" JBL GTO sub solid bass.
u can ask the ICE shop let u try both type of subs b4 u decide. but it is recommended that u should have a monoblock amp to only serve ur sub. dun ever bridge the amp or else sometimes will "cut" although it has the "bridgeable" feature.

wa he like techno, my preference will be toward the JL Audio W6 or W7 12 inch that will produce very nice bass.

Tohsan a newbie in ICE? *big small eyes* *Bleaaaaaahhhh* One of the only dudes in Malaysia that actually HAS a 12" Aliante sub and he calls himself a newbie. Pfftt.. :D :D :D Dude, faster ask your friend come to KL and pasang that Aliante la. We all wanna know what that sounds like.

Btw, I dunno about the JL's and the JBL and blah, but I do know if you get a small powered sub like a simple Mohawk DVC 2ohm Red matched with the correct sized box and amp.. you can really boom the ass outta your back seat passengers. KHGUAN is using a Mohawk Red 1 cuft sealed box and when paired with my Orion HCCA 250 G4 amp, set at 2ohms (400watts) with 8 o'clock gain and 0 gain from the HU, it really really really is damn bloody punchy when playing my techno tracks. So much so each thumb made our hair crawl. No kidding!

So in the end it all depends on your personal preference. Mohawk is fabulous for easy to drive subs but not very accurate or low. JL I've heard is very user friendly and can really whack the living daylights out of your neighbour. Seas lotus and Aliante are hailed as one of the best if not the best SQ subs. Alpine Type-R is no doubt good too considering the Alpine Type-S, R and X series components are wonderful too.

As for monoblocks, don't ever underestimate brands like Tagwood. Known as the chilipadi of monoblocks, it's small and it's friggin powerful. Small as in size of 2 hard discs put side by side, powerful as in can power 2 12" DVC 4ohm subs at the same time and rumble a camry's boot (tested and tried). And cheap too, 2nd hand is about RM700. And PM the seefu's for their opinions on certain brand names that I shall not mention here for my own personal safety's sake :D cuz I found out the hard way.

Go find out your budget, then find out what you like, then buy accordingly.
