i would like to change my waja air filter to k&n air filter....i was wondering which one is better the flat type of air filter or the turbin type of air filter....and if i plan to DIY cold air intake for the turbin type how do i go about....should i cover the whole turbin or just put the hose facing the turbin...thanks...

question is.. do u like d 'sound' of the intake suckin air? .... if yes, go for the open pod filter.. (it aint call turbin type).. if no... go for the OEM drop in filter type ;)

What about Wira?

Any recommendation for the good air filter system that really boost the horsepower? Thanks.

air filter system can really boost power? no lah! not even 2%.

psychologically only. but i think CAI is alwasy best!!

yup...its wont really BOOST power..will just give u a better intake...quite a minimal amount of power gain...

depending on ur engine too!

fr a stock wira..not much gain la..

CAI can...but air ram is also an option..

ram air is good....

examples of high power engines boosted using ram air

1. kawasaki ZZR1100 (used to be fastest production bike on earth back in 1993 with the help of ram air)
2. suzuki SRAD 750 (suzuki ram air direct)

yup...

air ram will get u air intake by VOLUME! ..not nessasarily the air will be cold...

but the CAI will give u cold air...which is denser..

u choose!

how to DIY CAI for open pod filter....i saw one fellow put a corong facing the filter then i saw another guy balut the whole filter in a box and connect to the exterior...which is better....

secret of ram air - the faster you go, the more power.

but no additional power during stationary laa..

sory to interrupt this thread..lol..is there DIY package of CAI for iswara? during afternoon..my car feel so heavy leh..probably bcos of the hot air..
have to rev til 3k and more then onli the surge come in..
but no problem at night time..feels the surge early..hehe
how much is it at market? what brand? any negative effect of installing CAI..have to drill hole or not? pls help

RAM air will cause havoc to your air flow meter if the stream of air is turbulent.

Pod filter is great as it has more mass to filter BUT it also sucks in hot air from the engine bay. Unless you do serious driving I'd go the drop in K&N panel filter as the induction box keep the hot air out and keep the air flow steady...........and the JPJ toyols off your back.

yo dude, its the 1.3 engine laa lacking power.

open pod air filter has more surface to suck in more air, thus better air flow, but without a proper air box or heat shield or CAI, it may perform worse than the OEM air filters.

to prevent hassles, most ppl opt for the drop in air filter, with the stock air box and everything...better air flow, thus slightly smoother response

CAI is really good but u have to get it done properly.

air ram would be my choice.but the down side is the placement of the intake.u have to place the intake in the correct place to avoid water to enter ur intake.

After all replies I still don't know what are they...

CAI
OEM
Open pod
Drop in
Panel

Mind to explain? Hehe :_:

you can call this num sam- 019-3366948 he is very experience in intake system.
