me sit beside them, playing with my handphone that has already been expired for more than 2 weeks no money reload, and drool at the smell of what they are eating... sigh~

so poor now i'm switching off my engine if i have to wait at a traffic light (those big one need wait 5 min or so one..) and never use aircond unless the heat is really killing me, my aircond not cold anyway.

life of playing with old school car... so terrible until you wanna cry but then there's some hidden joy in the middle of everywhere about it... anyone feel the same?

let talk about the good thing about old skool .......you no need to visit the bank every month....kakaka...........you can park your car everywhere........kekeke...........if you got extro money than upgrade your car lor .............if no money than see people play lar............hehehe

We have probably discussed this. But i believe that if we take some effort, we could minimize the cost spent on rebuilding old cars. Those cars featured in club4ag are mostly DIY projects. On exception of the high and mighty drag cars. Bodywork are 50% donw by themselves at their garage. And the rest would be at shops. I believe because their skills limit what they could restore.

And i have found out that it is not actually expensive to maintain old cars. My stock engine runs good with taiwan parts. And i pay 50%-60% less for Japanese parts. I take into account this. Jap parts are probably left over ones from old stock. I know not many Jap parts are avaulable for the T series engines. But they still manufacture parts for T series engines in Taiwan!

Body parts should be the most expensive in maintaining an old car. Else just go to your trusted car body shop to repair. I know mine cannot buy anymore:angel_smile:

but we here not everyone had the skill to even weld back the rusted part of the car, not to mention that we don't have any tools to start with. maybe there are real sifu in the forum with his own tools to do everything, but i'm just an enthusiast that likes old school car.

so.. we can't even do much on our own.. our diy skill probably limited to small - medium parts, major one might have to find workshop too ^^

one good thing about my restoration project is that, it is done by my brother at his own workshop ... otherwise mati!!!!

My big problem was in sourcing out the bodyparts/panels because almost all panels got rusted and the previous owner just put cement to cover it up, lots of it.

I gotta buy another donor TE and before that bought KE72 front cuts just to get the fenders and all ... with quite a major mods to it. And it involved lots of cutting, welding, knocking etc ...

Currently, the bodywork has finished and doing the cementing to smoothen up the surface and angles.

Started the project by end January and hope to wrap it up by the end of this month ... itu pun kalau got money ... hahaha

Next stage, engine swap ... haiyaa ... lagi money ...

Aiyo! That one like Devil Z liao. Here no Wangan expressway la. hahaha.

Jahax, Damn! not fair la your brother do it for you. hahaha. He probably ask 50% of price to free for every job! Man... wish i had relatives working in automotive rebuilding.

Rollakid, you are right. Anyway when u hang out at their forums, you find out many buy the equipment second hand. then trial and error. Its not always professional training there. If you give sifoo Acoustic a TIG or MIG or argon welder he sure dissected his car liao. hahaha. I would do that too, if my house have the space to spare. For me its not always definite that you need special skills to do a project. If we take the hard way, we still end up with the same skills. Agreed? Formal training is not always necessary. But its an advantage.

Fellas ... once the car painted, i will bring it to KL temporarily ... then, maybe we can go fort TT ... hehehehe

ol scool suck dry the wallet and sometimes credit cards..hmm..but nothing can compare to the satisfaction of a completed project which i never felt yet..paint alone tukang cat want rm4k plus..now in worksyop upgrading suspension and 'some' engine mods..wish me luck guys..sometimes feel wanna give up.nearly one year already..

hmm.. cannot give up lar.. you give up you lost everything already, i mean the car lar.. i die also must do the car until in reasonable condition, be it 1 year, 3 year or 5 year... 10 year cannot lar.. until that time probably need a hybrid or maybe a fully electric car

great work guys.. wish u all the best.. must be very hard but 'life' must go on bro..
feel the spirit edi.. post your monster pics once you have finish or on progress..
