Hey everyone, need some help. I drive a 1990 galant super saloon automatic. The only conversion i have done is from sohc to dohc. I am planning to put in a BASIC turbokit. Does anyone have suggestions or quotes on the things i need, the price and also if possible the place where this can be done?

Hi there. Is yours an E33A Galant Super Saloon? If so, join us at G-VRC.com, a site for Galant owners.

BTW, it is not worth doing BOT on the stock 4G63 as halfcut for VR4 is only RM 3k these days! Plus, u get everything including intercooler + wiring + ECU.

My E33A used to run on 4G63 SOHC 8V ECU-Multi > 4G63 DOHC 16V Cyclone > 4G63 DOHC ECI-Multi and now 4G63 DOHC Cyclone Turbo. Got my conversion done 5 months ago.

Come and join us at G-VRC.com and also our gathering in Shah Alam.

Hey ABC, yes my car is a e33a and its a DOCH 16 v cyclone. Haha i kinda just bought the half cut not long ago so was planning to actually work with it. But upon hearing abt the price of the vr4 halfcut, i am interested :) How much do you think a VR4 halfcut is including installation? Any recommended places? to get the halfcut and also install?

Was also wondering if i go along wit the turbokit how much it would cost for a basic one and also improvements?
I just want the extra boost :)

Thanks so much

I bought my Cyclone 220ps halfcut for RM 3.4k including the RS vented bonnet. Oh yeah, it comes with auto tranny.

Installation + minor overhaul comes to RM 3k (I'm looking for long term with this engine).

Where are u located? I'm in Kota Damansara... if so, we can meet up n I intro u to the members... they can help u source a perfect halfcut. Myself can supply u some parts - bits n pieces. PM me.

If u still want to BOT... it would be expensive... u need to change the gearbox too because stock 2WD auto tranny can take up to 200hp only.

I dyno'ed my old engine once... it only produces 100hp on wheels. So, that is a safe margin for the auto tranny. With turbo, ur hp should be around 170-180hp and if u mate the 2WD auto tranny... it might burn out in 6 months or longer depending on ur driving mood.

I highly suggest a full transplant... save the headaches from major engine rebuild.

For BOT, u need to pay attention to the following:

1. Auto tranny
2. Pistons
3. Exhaust manifold
4. Fuel pump
5. Spark plug
6. Brakes
7. Engine reliability

By the time u do all the above, it would have cost A LOT! :(
