paying 3k for a comp set is sure a good price.
the point is, it depends how it is tuned, what amp is it paired with, what type of hu is used, and how good the installation is.

at 3k for a comp set, basically its considered mid range comps. at this stage, you have to choose 1 that you like hearing most.

SQ to individuals is a very subjective matter. Some say brand X is good, some say brand Y is good.....
at the end of the day....everything in the setup matters...right down to the rca cables and speaker cables.

tuning is also important. having paid 6k for a comp set but bad tuning is also a waste of money. Paying 3k for a comp set and tune it to the best...thats perfect.

mind sharing what amp u r going to use to power the speakers?

i will use Soundstream van gogh 800.2 to power it. My HU is Alpine 9855. I think my hardware should be enough for the component right?

wow
nice amp hey, how much did you pay for your HU by the way?

I recommend speakers like RS Pro, Dynaudio MKii
depends on personal taste

As you can see each has their own preference in which comps they feel are a better buy, yes RM3K is a healthy budget and you can get quite a few "popular" brands and models but it all boils down to which suits your taste.

So you got to audit all the comps that fall in your budget range and from there decide which you think you like best. Remember to get the installer to tune the EQ to flat and not use TA. You basically wanna hear them in their most natural form.

just my two cents and I hope it helps.... :)

ya...i understand this but i nv try some of the component sets that mentioned above...how har?

Well....go look for installers that carry these models and have them on a rack...you gotta do some serious research dude, unless of course the 3K you are planning to spend came from a pot where you have loads more in reserve in the event you buy on impulse and decide you dun like the sound and wanna sell or get a diff model la. :)

Each speaker has their so called own characteristics, so you should make the effort to find out your preference. Go over to IASCA malaysia forum, attend the TT there and you can demo a few rides.

DLS Ultimate and Iridium series?...well, I like them, but thats a personal preference. Vocals very sweet....very very sweet and natural...lacks mid bass compared to the Dyns....

mean Dynaudio is better?

currently i'm using super lousy component, no mid bass and the tweeter really make my ear suffer....that's why someone recommend morel to me....any comment?

Dyns sound diff.....mids bass definately more apparent compared to the DLS. High diff too, tonality diff too....very subjective.

I've listened to Morel Supremo tweets, very good too if you ask me....to make things simple. You need to listen to them yourself to understand.

ICE is a matter of preference, with your SS 800.2, your options are wide open. You can choose from almost all the big names. Wont say you cant go wrong because you might have a preference different from me. To add to the confusion, CDT Euro Sport is another brand /model worth giving a listen to.

hahaha...i like the confusion that u gave me...but i just wonder whether i got the chance to audit those components.....

3k is a good budget, spoilt for choice :D
id go for the dynas if its available, usually have to order from spore. next would be RS pro. the only problem i know of it is the glue the germans use for the rubber surround to the basket cant stand our humidity, after a year or so it will become loose. ive seen my friend glue it back with good quality glue and has no problem since then. good luck :D
