1st of all, we must be aware that the naza ria is a full size luxury MPV - which explains why it is so big inside and bulky. and becoz of that, it weighs roughly about 2 tonnes. @ 2,000kg.
a 2.0 engine will suffer if fitted inside the engine bay. that is why Kia fitted the 2.5 V6 (same one fitted to Rover 75), just strong enuff but at economy sacrifice.
as a full size MPV, we cant compare it with mid size MPVs like Toyota Wish or Honda Stream. It is only comparable to the likes of Toyota Estima, Peugoet 806, Fiat Ulysse and such.
2nd of all, the original Kia Carnival retailed at 160K++ 6 years ago due to its CBU status. but when the huge price difference came when Naza started to assemble it locally and give it a local badge, hence enjoying national car tax. so we cant sell our 3 yrs old Carnival at 120K though bought at 160K when the new Naza Ria is just slightly over 100K...just dont expect that. its silly yeah, but that is economy.
same thing happened when Naza convert the Sorento, Carens to Citra, Picanto to Suria and Pug 206 to Bestari.
IMHO, Naza Ria is a good car when it comes to space and long distance comfort. it will struggle climbing up Genting - hell yeah but this is normal due to its specification.
for parts and modification - must avoid.
economy - the owner should have his own petrol station for convenience.
resale value - as of any car above 100K
all in all - its a good family car for weekend use or long trip purpose. only that.
