I've come across a few friends who have used hi-voltage coils on their cars (not fancy Jacobs, MSDs or Mallorys lah), and they all told me the same thing- easier redlining and yet better fuel consumption. So I guess those CDIs or transistored (or both) ignition modules are even better.
Wah, price quite steep hor... from websites I think it could be cheaper to import it directly from US... eg. the 6A (the most basic model) is around RM600 before shipping + handling.
ok don't shoot me but... i bought mine from ebay recently
redlining yeah i can rev faster now... and the car sounds more whinny... probably because got more oomph.
i got the crane cams hi-6 cdi and msd blaster2 coil (used but very new condition)
those cost me only rm600
then i got magnacor 8.5mm wires (new for my car model)
those cost rm300
so all in all i save alot compare to malaysia stuff ler... btw if u ask me about fuel consumption i can say maybe a little thats all...
1. Boost comes in very very early at around 2000rpm and peaks very quick by 2500rpm.
2. Once boost is in the car jerks pretty dramatic.
3. Idle is fine at around 850rpm.
4. Timing check is on the dot...
