sorry to kacau ur thread, but i do believe u guys can help me here..
currently running on stock 4g92 (proton- fo coz) AT wira... is it possible to change to mivec system. based on my readings (from this forum laa), i need to get mivec head, throttle body and ecu.
my question:
1) what other things that i 'need' to change from my stock engine? (piston, timing belt, etc?)
2) power gain?
3) AT gearbox will not having conflict with the changes?

Ken taiko, where you go, got someone need some advicefrom you la.

but i dun think the performance will be great cause the gear ratio's for the ori proton 1.6 is not suitable for the MIVEC's power band. I am also no sure if the original gearbox can tahan up to 8k rpm revving
I am also not sure that if you find a mivec auto ECU, if it will work with your ori gearbox.

but i think it is better if you change the whole engine cause at least you know everything will work. Buying mivec head, ecu & wiring will cost you a few thousand already.

But wait for sifu ken to reply you cause he is the expert of mivec. I just drive slow car only.

u need to change ur timing belt, if ur engine block has been use for quite sometime i would suggest that change to mivec piston,piston ring, big and small bearing. mivec head, ecu, mivec wiring and throttle body.

Power Gain. Definately gain alot bro ur standard 1.6 sohc produce about 80-90hps ? Mivec can get about 110hp on wheel.


about ur gb u can remain it. No problem at all but lose alot power there..

hmmm i tough u in penang ? Well have u got ur block ? Do it slowly bored then bring ur conrod,flywhell, piston, crankshaft and ect ect balancing. Then only send ur car to workshop..

Bore cost about Rm400 If not mistaken.
Full balancing about Rm 1k ? not sure also...
Then run in 5k KM.

Or budget way keep original size use 1,6 sohc piston. Change piston ring,Big and small bearing. then install power also gain alot bro. more torque
If possible do PnP also... Make sure u have Adjustable cam pulley, to transfer ur power to high end...
