Hi AutoXers and potential AutoXers,

Motorsports Association of Malaysia is currently carrying out a roadshow.
One of the events in the roadshow is an Autocross.
This is an opportunity to try your hand at one of the easiest forms of motorsport.

please go to their website http://www.mam.org.my for more details,

next event will be in Danga Bay, Johor Baru, on Sunday July 22, 2007.

Don't miss this opportunity

Same date with HPC Track Day in SIC and Star Drift in Malacca.

there's 52 weekends in a year.

How hard can it be to select dates that don't clash....

Faisal,

its a roadshow lar... not a competition.... will not affect your event lar... It will benefit your event actually... its purpose is to create awareness and interest wat.... its a non-participating event leh... only show....

Furthermore... its in Johor.... How many of the locals there will actually come down to Mlk or Sepang to catch events..... This should be catered to the locals there only ler... no clash of interest

Some competitors will be away. The grassroots level people somemore.

It will benefit my event? What event? How so? HPC is a trackday. Has no need for MAM. Star Drift is a non sanctioned event.

But my point actaully is all these events , motorsports related, be it Entry level or internationla, in this country , should try not to clash.

Many weekends to use, but not many competitors to go around

urm.... I do believe that the drivers for this roadshow are GRA drivers wor whom might have volunteered for this....

I think maybe u need to look at this in another way ler... Autocross is like u say.... grassroot level drivers mar... meaning Introduction to racing drivers lor... your HPC events are track events wat...which most people(most people would mean myself... muahahaha) normally think of it as advance level racing... so... on a long term... grassroot level racers will turn into track racers one day.... muahahaha.. therefore benefits you.... at the same time.. those whom join autocross with their drift car then would meet more people from your drift events and therefore bring in more competitor...... Therefore in a long term, this MAM roadshow will do good for both R3 and GRA ler

Both your event and MAM roadshow are targeting 2 different groups of target market leh.... so even if its done on the same day... will not have any negative effect.... I dun think MAM roadshow will tah pow 50 drivers with them rite.... muahaha... no money to collect wan wor... why would they spend so much....

you missing my point la..

Which is that motorsports in this county is small. keeping events (any, be it track days, autox, autoX promos) from having clashing dates will help growth, and shows unity and that they have the same agenda and drive. that is to help Motorsports Grow.

Clashing dates don't help. participants media exposure, sponsorship etc will be spread thin.

If the entire motorsports fraternity can keep from doing events on F1 weekend why not for locally targeted events?

BTW HPC is NOT R3's or my event. I was just using that and Stardrift as an example

guys...chill la.

instead of "discussing" what is wrong, maybe we can talk about what we can do to make it right?

I also want to try. I hope I can make it to Kuantan round and meet the lengendary Eater_EG6 and Akuma.....hhhahahaaha

hope that next year all the events does not clash with each other even open track day
like what faisal said is true
there's 52 weeks in a year and all organiser have to put thier eye's so that it does not clash with each other.. luv to join most of all the event but if 2 falls on the same day and time then it is just too bad
enjoy hpc, gra, and looking forward for the next open track day

Actually, i think we can't blame the organisers too (whether they are GRA, HPC or etc etc) because I understand most of them planned their events way before the year started. They even booked the venues early in the year.

But, I think it can be worked out if all established motorsports head honchos sit down together for Xmas dinner bringing along their planner with them.
