Hi there. can any expert giv som lecture on how a good muffler improve a car's performance?Like how does a muffler boost up additional hp? Btw, anyone of u noe which type of (brand, size, dsign) muffler will produce d similar sound effect like a Porsche....it sounds very oomph..low,thick, will not tear others ears one....

Thanx.

try this 1....

that one is not a muffler, yet, it will not tear a person's ear, it will burn a person's ear and hearing... :D , and furthermore...it's a top aim for JPJ

lecture huh?

here's some lecture note.
Exhaust Flow in an Automobile

:D :D
that is quite elementary i would say.

you can have different variety of pipe material, thickness, shape, joining angles, length and bla bla bla.

What makes a performance exhaust so much more expensive then your extractor from kedai eksos ahcap?

the R&D spent into researching heat transfer/conduction, expansion characteristics, flow pattern, noise issues, pulse tuning and bla bla bla again B)

btw, if i can giv u a good lecture, i wont be sitting here right infront of the pc typing this

only thing i learnt from my KH teacher was that the exhaust gasket plays an important role in noise absorption also

Hmm u wanna emulate Boxer engine sounds meh? Actually u won't be able to achieve that with any muffler ;) Well, not 100%, perhaps not even 40% of it, maybe just hearing the frenatic muffler sounds turns ur imigination to hear Boxer sounds

muffler?what ever you do it wont boost hp or performance.i would suggest you change you piping size.

wow...blueprint....wat a sound thesis u had done (btw is tat urs?)

in Taiwan ppl start putting som ball type metal stuff in their engine or other related places under the hood....they said by doing so will save d fuel, increase burning/combustion efficiency n hence increase d power oso.....anyone tried tis...few yrs bac technology..... is tat d same wif d Simon Tat spokes for...

actually exhuast will not help to increase power.. the objective of exhuast is to help gas can flow smooth and reduce noise. good exhuast will provide gas flow with smooth , less of the back pressure, so engine can work with normal condition; and provide max power of the engine.

dont u feel like talking noncense?? there is something wrong with ur quote..

i'm not sure what he's talking about.but the main thing that is your factory stock xhaust is not letting out all the xhaust gas that it is supposed to let out to create full performance.by getting the exact size of piping for you car's displacement, you will get full hp outta your engine

just ask the rest of the forumers lah....
dun simply shoot and mislead other newbies... <_<

brothers.....i got ur point..again...i learnt more from u guys....mus spend u guys a drink during nex TT....btw,do u have any guidelines to chose a suitable muffler and to mod exhaust system?tq.

Almighty exhaust sifu,
If what you say is true, the best exhaust is no exhaust?

Try that on a engine that has a long valve overlap period and see what u get ;)
