Wednesday 15th February 2005, around 1.30 - 2.00 pm. Location, somewhere near Jln Pasar / junction towards Jln Tun Razak roundabout.

I was riding my pal's Modenas Kriss, going at about 40 kph, after picking up some screws and nylock nuts for my car. As I turned off from Jln Pasar, into the street that joins up to Jln Tun Razak / Pandan roundabout, a silver Toyota Altis followed suit as well. Then he immediately turned to his left ( into a junction that leads to a school there ) without slowing down or turning on his signals prior to turning left! I had nowhere to go but to ram head on to his left rear door. Bang! And I was sliding on the road with the kapchai on top of my right leg. Ppl around the area ( there's a number of warongs over that area ) rushed over and immediately helped to pick up the bike off me and helped me up. The driver immediately went out and assisted me while checking for damages to his car ( a fist - sized dent to his left rear door and some scratches ). The ppl around who helped me started asking questions : are u ok? how's your leg? is your head spinning or not? etc. SOme of them asked the driver to take me to a clinic nearby, so he did. Doctor cleanen up my wounds, got a tetanus shot and some antibiotics. After that, the driver asked me where should I repair my bike, so I told him, the bike must be repaired now, since it is not mine, and I only borrowed it to run an errand. So we walked to a shop and told me to push opr ride the bike slowly there, while he goes to the nearest ATM machine to withdraw some cash. Later, he arrived and asked the shop boys to check and replace all the parts that was damaged by the accident, totaling to about RM 115.00. He gave me his contact number, for me, in case I need to call him.

To you, the driver of silver Toyota Altis, Mr Chiew, I salute you, and I thank you for being so attentive and patient. PPl like you is not easy to find, and you have inspired me to do the same as well. Only God knows how to repay for your kindness. I'll think of something to repay your generousity sir...

We have a good and responsible driver attitute story to share in ZTH finally.
ace79, hope that you are ok.

well, on the bright side he most probaly is a genuine kind person but if you look at the otherside of the coin maybe his roadtax or driving license has expired or the car is a stolen item or something along that line....no?

If everyone starts to look at it that way, good social values won't work, society falls and we blame you. hahahaha.

yes.. salute and respect mr.chiew
but salute to u too ace,
u did not make a fuss bout it..
u were patient..
didnt blame/scold/punch/kick the one at fault..
u even took the time and effort to post it up here to praise him..

u're one kind hearted motorist too..

Well , the thing that has to be saluted is that mr chiew willing to admit his fault , very rare for nowadays drivers as they will find a way to blame others for their fault . God bless both of u and speedy recover for ACE .

I would say both parties involved were reasonable folks. The dude in the Altis was clearly at fault. Ignoring what happened afterwards, it was a reckless and inconsiderate piece of driving.

What we could take heart from, the redeeming factor so to speak, is that he admitted he was at fault and didn't shirk any responsibilities, unlike a lot of fuckers these days who would probably just hit and run or put the blame on the other party.

ace79, if you had managed to avoid collision just in time, this post would probably have been about how this dude in a Silver Altis was a twat. ;-)

Mr Chiew was very kind, patient ( never even checked his hp the whole time! ), and didn't run away ( during when he promised me to wait at the workshop while he runs off to the nearest ATM machine ). I did not raise my voice, because I've learnt that pissing ppl off won't get you help, but more troubles instead. I've always practiced using both my signal lights and rearview mirror plus the two side mirrors bfr turning into a junction or overtaking in the city ( highway also practice lah, unless the road is very clear of traffic fore and aft of my car ), and yes keep at least a 6 seconds gap between you and the vehicle in front! I hope this story will guide other forummers here to be kind to other road users and those who walk as well. Drive fast, but safe...and only in areas where it is truly clear of traffic, or else, save some moolah, buy a helmet and whack at Sepang instead.

oh come on la uncle devious.. the story is like that... lets not dig any deeper into it.. no point.. besides... at least he did help out ace79.

ace79,
What if some dude bangs you. Park at the side, come out, and the first thing that dude says (with a raised voice) is, "Hey, do you know how to drive/ride? Did you even see me coming? ... bla bla bla"
Should we continue to be kind by talking nicely, or we just let the golf stick do the talking nicely?
