Kelisa auto - engine shaking

hi all,

my gf 1.0 auto kelisa, is still a fully std one. but lately the engine shaking a lot n the exhaust also.

some time when come to stop time, can feel the car dashboard n steering also shaking. how come ha?

some mech told me is becasue the exhaust there dont have flexi joint, thus it make the whole car shaking. it is true?

on that time what is your RPM?
our car will shake when the RPM drop below 1000rpm..so u chekc how much uis your RPM when it start to shake....about the exhaust thing..i don't think the flex pipe will give much effect on the engine and your car dahboard...

ok will notice about the rpm when it happen.
but currently the idle is quite high also. it around 1000++. something it go to 1100 also.

according to the sticker at the bonnect, the idle speed should be 850 rite? any idea how to adjust the idle speed or not?because it dont have the idle valve to screw one.

auto car idle is higher then manual car...my car idle around 800 to 850 without aircond....so u test your car see how high is the idle when u swith off the air cond...
the ECU will control your idle of the car...the reset it just unplug the negative point from the batterty for 30 minutes and plug it back....start your engine and let it run for few minutes then u switch on the aircond...then turn off your car engine and restart again...then u see how much is the ROM after reset...if the same then i guess u need to send it to P2 for inspection

i am so impress with this car FC. it more than double compare to my car. at highway i able to travel 290km with RM30 petrol. damn nice :)

according to my gf, she said when the car going to stop. the shaking is happen but there is no drop of rpm. even on the headlight n the air con, the rpm still steady at 1k rpm there.

maybe i should reset the ecu n let it learn back. see what will happen.
just service the car, new plug n filter also.

the whole car shake or only the dashboard?
if the whole car shake...maybe is your car tyre or aligment...if your car still under warranty..send it back to p2 lar...get it check...maybe your dashboard is not skrew properly....

is u can feel from the car steering n that time is happen when u going to stop time. some time when start the car from cold, u can actually feel the shaking by touching ur hand on the car body. the muffler tip even worst, can see it dancing there.

so bad the warranty finish then problem only arrive. first i has thought about the mounting problem,but it jsut a 2 years old car, cant be so fast the mounting gone already rite.

shakiness can a be lot of things...

steering shakes when braking=ur disc not really flat...need to do skimming
steering shakes above certain speed=wheel balancing
engine shakes hard = mounting
vibrates at idle= 3 cylinder is normal laa...
dashboard vibrates = skru longgar

u can minimise engine vibration by using better quality spark plugs and increase ur timing a bit...

had that problem, reset da ecu n it all went back to normal. try resetting the ecu first.

the flexi joint will help reduce the exhaust shake not whole car...the whole exhaust is hanging without touching any part of the chassis.

the engine mounting, you can try ask your mechanic to loosen the screw/nut. let it rest at the correct spot and tighten it back.

yesterday night i reset the ecu. then can see the rpm drop below 1k. now is around 900 after the car is warm up.
will try the mounting one. thanks

the best timing setting for kelisa is around 1100 or 1200 last time when i check the ecu setting book in a friends shop .Mine is set at 1100 then cannot feel the engine shaking .......... but if ur timing is rite but still shake means u ur mounting is gone ... usually its around 140 to change

do balancing will definitely help, low speed and higher speed also got less vibration, trust me, my kancil just did it last week, running 100kmh vibrate less than driving at 80kmh, kinda weird but feels good. for kancil, wheel balancing is RM5 per wheel, RM20 overall, quite cheap, hehe.

actually what i said is not so related to the vibration while slowing down(braking), but do balancing, then ask them to check the disc while they take off the wheels.... actually just ask them to check everything the sifus suggest, no need to travel to workshop so many times....

how old is your gf car?
just replace the engine mounting (front and rear).

my gf experienced this once last month...everytime she's in idle..the engine rattles so bad even the steering column also shaking....
From Neutral to Drive...there's a jerking sensation...so i go down and check the engine mounting...confirmed sudah rosak!!

go to your nearest workshop and please don't try this alone..engine berat and the engine bay is too small..hand hard to slide in and out...

cost; around RM250-RM350....(different kedai different workmanship cost)-engine mounting (depan and belakang).
