hey guys.... im a newbie in this drifting... but already drift sometimes lar.... i've been drifting with my stock kancil like a silly fella... go to quite parking lot and make a 360 alone... yesterday i try to drift at a corner... quite tight ar... and to think again... it was rain that night... then end up doin 360 and hit the divider... haiyo... i think i need to know how to drift from all sifoo here ar... mayb the basic concept... :frown:

Its not drift, its sliding and please dont try with kancil, its vey harmful to u and ure car, u may end up turnover, try with more longer car and older wans esp. FR drives.

oh now i get it! how come i didn't know that i was SLIDING rather then drifting... my god... i think im toooo lucky that im still in 1 piece man... but hey... who cares... i dont even think that i wan to change my car... i just wan to drift using my kancil... any comment how?

yea, thatz pretty much an uncontrolable slide... my friend tried to be funny with his civic EJ at subang big U-turn near subang parade, he ended up crashing his car.

FF car can't drift... tatz all i can say.

I experienced it in batu tiga track before, on a wet track, was over enthusiastic on turn 3 that i went sideway slidding, looks like drifting, but not... it was uncontrolable.. it was freaking scary as i slidding towards the sandtrap... luckily it went on a permanent stop just rite before the sand, only my front left wheel went into it, hence scratching my front lip..

never never do that.

Eazt, .. please take advise because ure seeking ones ... FF cars can drift but only by professionals .. not a newbie like u.

FF drifting is similar on E-BRAKE technique which may end with disasters for newbies, trust me .. FF drifting for anybody will ewnd up with crash and accidents and thats usual, learned by mistakes but dont end up with risking ure life .. i mean over turn the car.

In my advise, i suggest u get a car with lower center of gravity force which may u learn more and not with K-CARS ... unless ure kancil is 2 inch upper from the tar road ;) ...

happy drifting!

can i ask a ques....im a non drifter too....i also do it at u-turn road.......i drive about 50 or 60.....then i press the clucth then i swith in GEAR 2 then turn the sterring and pull the handbrake......so the can turn and i turn back my steering and go......so tis is not a drifting rite>>>>> im using my iswara...so it FF....very dangerous rite...ohkay...i will try not.....my car lower n 15inch rim.....in the rainig..its fun...hehe...SHHhhh.....i scare d....... :tee:

well... ok then... guess i hav to wait to fill my pocket lar.... coz... this kancil oso need some makeover... mayb it takes a year lar to buy a 2sd car... oh ya... how bout that 240sx? how much can i get for 2sd hand ar? i mean... the minimum lar... around 5 years 240sx...

Couldn't agree more with u guys that a ff car is not meant to drift.. Basically, drifting is in simple terms, negotiating a corner with the throttle helped with certain steering corrections.. However, I've got an option video of some crazy japanese who can literally asss drag their cars behind a fr & literally macth the fr's corner entry speed, line & angle. & get tis, they are driving KEI cars..

On board camera shows liberal use of the e brake & montrous use of steering correction " lock to lock in less than a second". Here' a quick run thru of wat they did,

Going down the straight at probably a 80 kmh - 100 kmh, turn in slightly, yanked e brake, counter, maintained drift using the e-brake & throttle. wats more, they were able to maintain the drift thru 3 successive sharo 90 degrees coner.. " Don belive me? I have uploaded the video into
PHP:
www.keiconcept.net
.. Juz do a quick register & d/l the wmv.. Trust me, its more than worth it watching those japs go at it.. Would like to discuss more bout this video with sifu's of drifting to c if they can answer some some of my questions..

Cheers,

polyx
P.s. don even think bout attempting to do what u've seen in this video.. I blieve the kei cars' setup is far from normal.. Do it & die, u onli have urself to blame..

i've seen this video bfore i attempt the drift myself...(which end up on hitting the sideways)... but to think again sakuraguy... it's not a slide... it IS a drift.. coz i'd locked the rear tyres with the e-brake and i did try to counter it but it was too late man... the wet surface plus there's a slow line bars on the asphalt that slide my tyres and loosing it's grip... :albertein

after that shit happens... i'd try to learn from the basic with the FF... of coz with my little cutie kancil lar... judging by my fren... the K-car could drift but the basic rule is this... the suspension should be lowered and a strut bar should be installed. :albertein

from my perspective.... the driver should know the engine very well to drift the car... the K-car would be easier to drift on wet surface but more likely you will be loosing too much grip.. also, u should know bout the throttle... like 660, it would be easier coz i realize that without too much hp, the 660 engine w/o turbo, all u hav to do is just rev the car to it's max to gain power while drifting... :albertein

P/S : who knows what K-cars can do even more rite?

I drift my kancil alot of times.

Because Kancil is FF, so the type of drift is limited.

I only manage to do E-brake and Faint.

But anyway, its alot of fun.

I know of a guy who used to drift with a Kancil.

He was really-really good.

c.... i told u! sakuraguy... i think u underestimate the k-cars man.... n by far... i think i should find that guy that joker mentioned lar... who's that guy hah joker? mayb i can be his apprentice.... hehehe...

hoh, joker can do a faint with FF?! how did u do that.... tell me lar...

Sorry dude but most of us here do not really underestimate what an FF K-Car can do ass-drag/drift/slide(whatever you wanna call it). Many of us here do know some of the best FF sideway enthusiats in the local arena

But we are trying to say is that if you wanna indulge yourself in such activities, pls do it in a safe area, like participating the FF event at Extreme Park or check out other FF events organized by groups such as D24 Dorian drift team. Dun ever harm other innocent road users. Pls dun think that after watching Manabu Orido drifting a Subaru Vivio K-Car and you think you can do the same thing in a very short time without sufficient practice on public roads

And the golden rule applies at the end of the day, FR is the ideal drivetrain to drift. Even Joeker has upgraded himself and has started to learn how to drift an FR by using his Project D TE71.

IMHO, if you start indulge about getting sideways there is no harm begining with an FF car but getting an FR car should be the ultimate goal.

P.S: FYI, there is an abundant of topics created in this forum which pertains about FF ass-drag/drifting/sliding.Pls take the initiative to search for it using the search function available above.

brother, u should get ur hands on any of Hatakeyama's FF drift videos. But he's driving a Civic EF9 which is superlow and focus at his EF's tyres camber settings, front and back.
U can view how he makes the angle and doing connecting corner drifts with his EF, clutch and throttle control, steering counters and... handmoves between gear shiftings and e-brake lever in milliseconds

Anyone here who says FF can't drift... u should check it out too, and if lucky, u'll get the videos where he outdrifts FRs. And yes he's a very very professional driver with thousands hour of practice, tons of tyre changes and lots of fender benders. If you can afford the tyres and repairing dents, go ahead. But still, OFF THE STREETS and definitely not in between sum housing estate.
