guyz..wanna ask
if u change ur intercooler
will it affect ur boost reading???

example engine v6TT using ori i/cooler
then change to vr4 i/cooler
will it make the boost higher??

tq tq tq

boost is controlled via the wastegate actuator, if dis isnt meddled, den ur boost will just stay the same. its a question if ur intake temp will drop or not, performance wise

changed turbo would not affect boost also i guest, boost is controll by ext wastegate or ur internal actuator... correct me if im not correct.

if you have a better intercooler it'll lead to having lower temp intake air at the same boost pressure. since colder air is denser, you end up with more air, which allows for more fuel to be burnt, hence generating more power.

Changing to an intercooler with better flow could slightly increase your boost reading. This is because an intercooler forms a restriction in ur intake system, which results in pressure drop. If you measured boost pressure before and after ur intercooler, I'm sure you'll get a higher reading before than after.

dosen't it create turbo late????

That is throttle lag, not turbo lag...

Anyways, it all depends on the design of the end tank, the core, etc etc

last time i were using nissan march i/c, and now using evo 4 i/c, from what i have here is that, boost readin remain the same.

about lag, why dont you think about you get colder air and have better respond, at the same time you wont feel any lag or maybe doesnt exist...

as i said, boost is controlled via wastegate actuator. increase in boost is like, too small for us to see on the boost meter. yes, the intake temp decreases hence forcing the intake air flow to become denser hence increment in the boost sumone here mentioned. but, u have to remember the boost level is still controlled by the actuator, dis is the safe-key for the engine to live longer. and as the map sense dis sudden increment in boost from the turbine, boost cut occurs and boost is forced to a near constant level.
by saying the boost readouts doesnt change, i meant dat the increment cant be seen. its not a big factor imo, not in malaysia neway :) u'll find dat if u r in colder region, just fitting a FMIC gives a lot of boost cut, which u really dont want neway, rite?

partially right and partially wrong... different turbo comes with different actuator set at different boost levels. =Þ

If using external wastegate... u change turbo liau, have to re-adjust the wastegate... using back the same adjustments will show different boost levels.

hope i'm not wrong and kena flame. Kekeke..

yep, even witin the same turbine range ie ct9a & ct9A, the actuator acts differently. ct9A is a diesel turbine and only letting excess pressure out via the wastegate on higher boost (i think its about 18psi?) compared to the ct9a (~8psi). ct9a is the puny startlet's std turbine :)

alvin what is the diofferent btw turbo lag and throter lag??
may Explain????

changing ic cannot effected boost reading .. if u changing actuator to using waste gate maybe can effect your boost reading .. boost can setting using wastegate..better respon..

Last time i using std ic gsr side mount.. now i using apexi hybrid size like vr4 ic but big double layer i thick..

After i changing this ic to big ic n setup piping stenless still ic ..my car is better respon then before..

firstly piping ic length must shoot n length from tb to bov must not to long n to short..
