Idlying problem on VR4

I've come across some idlyiing problem lately, and it is not due to the aircond being switched on. Also the clutch isn't depressed. Tried adjusting the idlying knob but not much effect also.

So happens the car dies after idling for a short while. What could be the possible causes?

1. Vacumn hose loose? Where are the vacumn hoses located?
2. Any sensor not working?
3. Others?
 
if you're engine is missfiring = fuel problem (injectors, injector railing + sensors, throt bod, isc)
when your engine dies because of vacuum leak, then you would prob hear the leak somewhere ( it would be quite loud)
sensors = could be your knock sensor retarding your idling, most likely coz your ecu is reading abnormal air/fuel ratios.
is your engine turbo charged ?
 
vestax, u are right, I think it was mostly due to the MAF. It was modified earlier to a bigger one (4g93). When I took it out, I saw that part of the tape that was used was covering airflow hose causing restriction to the airflow. Removed the tape and did a bit of test run around PJ.

The idling now has improved, but I think my SAFC settings that was used previously needs to be re-configured to accomodate the extra air intake.
 
budget a bit tight this month, somemore dompet kena curi by airport taxi, inside got enough to pay for ltx12 also..sigh..

later will sure do la, ask microtech to sponsor some discounts for me also la..heheh... soo what is the estimate hp for my current setup + add on my spare RB26?

Also have to wait until my 2nd car is ready first.. if not damn mah fan la, everytime wanna modify or service I don't have spare car to use.
 
huh you got your MAF modified to 4G93 bigger one ? why the hell 4G93 la bro ?. :lol: , izzit 4G93 or izzit 4G63 evo MAF ? :rolleyes:

your car stock standard mana ada orang sponser la..
sponser also sponser monster set up la... standard pegi pasar one i think they won't la...conver track car first la..then i ask for u
 
vestax, temporary using 4G93 one, coz haven't found the hoses for the Evo 3 airflow sensor. Still better than the original VR4 one la.. I also surprised when I saw how small the airflow was in the VR4, even tikus also cannot masuk.

heheh ok la vestax, track car eh? temptations temptations... does that mean I need to use rollcage etc?

4g93 is in between ori vr4 and evo 3 if u compare the airflow size. Need to modify the wiring coz the socket for 4g93 and vr4 slightly different.

well you aready mention , u modify the airflow , then now ur asking whats the problem with the idling , obviously its the airflow cause you had messed it up . why did you change the vr4's airflow also i donno , since you had mention you have the e3 airflow but then you don't have the pipes , why can't you stick to the vr4's airflow till you get the e3 maf pipe's done . :rolleyes:
 
it was running fine earlier la, the reason why there was idlying problem was because some tape was stuck in between the hoses & earlier did dynotuning without realising that the tape was stuck inside. So when I took it off, the airflow was approx 30% bigger without the obstruction, and the settings weren't correct anymore.
