Hi Guys,

Sorry for asking this question as i am noob on this HID head light stuff...

Seems like one of my HID lamp auto turn off after 10 sec...is it mean it going to die out soon?? If i on again it will on but after that off again

How HID actually works? I got my car installed with HID by previous owner so i am not sure about it. Is HID set up like normal head light set up? If the HID "bulb" spoiled can be change like normal bulb?

Hope someone can tell me more about HID stuff...any help will be much appreciated! :)

i do have a question....
many ppl told me tat HID is very hard 2 c if raining izit...

its fine for me, it still very bright during heavy rain...

something wif ur woring izzit? n yes... HID is quite visible during bad weathers, but oso depends on individuals lar... mayb some drivers eyes is sharp.. :D

I'm not sure about ur HID condition. but if u ask me how they work, i can help u.

For our normal Halogen bulb a current is passed through the filament which will turn red hot and light will be emited. the use of iodine vapour(Halogen) is to amplify the emited light so that it becomes brighter. But filament after some usage will get burned.

For HID, instead of using a filament to produce light. It uses 2 electrodes. There will be a gap between the 2 electrodes. because HID need around 15000 to 25000 volts to start an arc. so a ballast is needed to step up the 12V to 15000 or 25000 volts. The huge current forces the electrons in the current to jump across the gap between 2 electrodes and an arc is produced but only 80 volts is required to maintain the arc. The inert gas (Xenon) inside the HID is use to amplify the brightness also. Because there is no filament used in HID system. So they can last longer then normal bulb.

HID's working is almost same like ARC welding.

so its mean when spoiled can just change "HID bulb" as well?

Brother 1200 v to 1500 v only lah .....

U can pm me for your question i need to know more to answer your question.

Visible? almost all HID or Xenon bulb are brighter then Halogen just our human eye is not use to it (High Temp) will feel unconfortable on Blue or Purple colour .....
Yellow and orange is the only colour (Colour Wave Study) can go thru water (rain) with less reflex (check out out road lamp) ......

i heard that HID isnt good for misty places like Genting or so... coz they could not evaporate the mist in front, thus cannot see clearly...

but what i noticed that day a car with bright white HID luminates brighter than my ori halogen bulb... thus, not quite sure whether HID are good on both foggy and non foggy area...

depend on the TEMP (kelvin) the lower K the higher the clearity you have for all condition ....

i have no problem when i was in cameron n genting, i switch on both the HID headlight n HID foglight of my kenari Aero, even foggy area i still can see clearly :tee:

Thumbs up for HID user!! :dancing2:

1 question, as I know WAJA have quite different headlamp, (1 lense will put in front of the bulb), any WAJA owner here install the HID? how's the different between normal bulb compare with HID?

My car is having the similar design like WAJA (anyone know the name?) have. According to some ppl, because of the lense, the HID is dimmer. So the driver dun have the HID "feel". Can anyone help me on this?

I think those type of light like the Waja style is called Projector type.

yes, those wajas headlight alike are called projector headlamps.

you will still get the HID feel even though using HID, just look at those beemers and merc ... some of them using projector lamp too ...

and u will also benifit from wider road coverage and perfect cut off line due to your projector headlamp compare to those reflector(normal i.e. wira, civic ...) headlamp

icic... means HID are good in foggy area also lar... i think what they mean is those white bulb no good only.... buy proper HID that works in all condition...

thinking of my car, sad case lar... i was in genting at about 6pm, switched on my ori halogen bulb, couldnt see a thing also even 2metres in front... have to stop my car at the junction to see the roadsign... damn paiseh...

Is not the projector faulth, you can't do anything on it cause your after market H1 Xenon bulb lenght is too long for H1 head lamp ....

Poor design after market bulb.

Good Luck.
