Haltech Platinum can be tuning

Bro..i am currently driving an impreza ver 7 wrx, modified with 2.2 kit, my mechanic say that ecu remap normally will be ok for modded subaru. But i am still considering between haltech platinium sport 1000 and F con V Pro. Mind giving some idea on which type of ECU tuning suit my car more ??

I find that Sprint 500 is very affordable with the features that is giving.

Pro:
Affordable price
Lots of functions and control
Good support from Haltech and local dealers
ECU software made compatible with other Platinum series

Cons:
Usually no base map have to start from scratch.
22psi internal MAP (too small)
Rather confusing software functions at times.

make your thread like a info sharing (pro & cons, experiences & etc) instead of posting like a catalog & you are welcome here.

respect this forum & we will respect you.

Sprint 500 are not many function to control your subaru
Platinum 1000 better.
Platinum 1000 have a base map.U can get from your nearest dealer to start your engine.

Share your problem...we can try to help.

shahz,

what is the settings for the injector firing angle for mitsubishi 4G9/6 series engine?
it is so much different compared to Microtech.... Microtech have like 90deg to 270deg.. while Haltech Sprint is like 455deg..

according to the help support, 455 degrees is referred to BTDC.

therefore
720-455 = 265 degree of crank angle.

coming soon:biggrin:

Basic Tuning for fueling and Ignition trim are better for starting learning Platinum series..the rest are assecories for custome tuning.Ms and Dwell time charging for Coils are very important thing.

meaning to say the injector timing compared with microtech lt10 are as follows?

270deg in Microtech is the same with 455deg in Haltech?
90deg in Microtech = Haltech ? deg

Base Fuel Map and Ignition Map already tuned.
Cool Correction - done...
Transient Throttle - still playing around with it
Full Throttle Map - almost there...
Zero Throttle Map - done.

However, when I lightly bleep the throttle from idle (1000rpm) to 3000rpm the responds is not so nice when I have tried almost everything to the base maps. There is like a small delay... whats wrong? But no problem from 3k rpm to 6k rpm. any ideas?

mt 270degree, haltech 720 - 270 = 450 degree with respect to BTDC
mt 90degree, haltech 720 - 90 = 630 degree w.r.t BTDC

Yes thats rite.
Microtech can't change the angle of dizzy
Haltech can + or - the angle of dizzy timing.
But the answer are same.
Easy for you using Crank Angle sensor 60-2 type.

i can understand what lozo is saying about injector firing angle... but i dun get what syahz is dizzying about....

so lozo,
in mt i like to set lt10s t_inj as follows for smooth throttle responds at low RPM.
1000rpm-1500 90deg, 2000-3500 150deg... so I assume in Haltech the equation are as follows

1000-1500 630deg, 2000-3500rpm 570deg (is that correct?) but in Haltech default map.. the injector firing angle starts with 455deg and increased over the RPM range... ending up somewhere in 470deg range... why is that so?

yeup correct. why there is different...hmm sorry couldn't figure out. maybe to compensate the injectors delay. will do research on it

hehe... i have played a tiny bit with the injectors timing delay... the air fuel ratio will show a temporary rich condition before going full lean "due to decel cut" after letting off the throttle. Is that a good thing to do? If not mistaken that shouldn't be it rite? carbon deposit may build up over time and yet i assume the additional fuel before decel cut is good for cooling down the cylinders... unfortunately no loud popping sound between gear shifts...

i don't think there will be any carbon build up due to temporarily rich condition. at least it assist cooling though

How fast you can tune on the dyno?Short time, reliable and Quality.
Using the Haltech Duel Channel Wide Band and put your AFR target...run it.
You can run on the road or on the dyno if you have a facility your place.
Do profesional tuning on your self.Every time Innovative.
