it all depends on which part of your anatomy you choose to have the tattoo lah. it's really not that painful. you know how they say it's like an ant bite? just imagine an ant biting you over and over rapidly for about 2 hrs hehe:regular_smile:

so do u find them sexy? what bout the one above? over done? or maybe those small ones like at the hip, back of shoulder or chest looks just nice... ?

anyway.. just happen to saw that pic on sunday mail newspaper.. sexy gal. But somehow had mixed feelings wit those tattoos... :emoticon_U:

during those good old days when your granny times, i think tatoo is consider taboo unless its for those Gangster taiko, family members will despise u if u ever caught with one of those tatoo in your body and the police will be the 1st one to look for you if conincidentally there is fighting or whatsoever bad things happen n you are around. Some family still hold the good old value and they will be very much happy if their daughter have not a slight thing to do with the tatoo stuff.

I am the dad of a 5 y.o son, i don't think i want my son to have any of those tatoo on any part of his body. Its not decent and old man of the family most likely won't approve it becos its looks more like gangster than decorative art.

Just my 2 cents.

fortunately my family is slightly more liberal. my aunt especially has always been fully supportive of me getting a tattoo, earings and whatever else. she's quite modern and westernised. by granddad and grandmom initially made comments like , "aiyah why would you want to do to these things for?" but have since grown accustomed to it and accepted me hehe. never really had a problem gaining any approval. i guess it's because they know that under all that, they brough me up right and that is what's more important.

Honestly, getting a tattoo isn't really THAT painful.
Of course, for women there are compatible designs.
The most important thing about getting a tattoo is... If you like it. Get it. Don't care what other people think because it's gonna be on YOUR body for the rest of your life. Unless you wanna go lazer it off at 3x the cost and 10x the pain of your tattoo.

Seraph - Most tattoo parlors are really hygenic nowadays. Of course don't go to the ones in back alleys etc etc. Proper shops like Borneo Ink or Tat2 Expressions are fine. They practice steralization and they use new needles per customer.

seraph - which is why i would not recommend that people get theirs from cheap dingy sources. always visit reputable ones that use new needles each time. i only trust borneo ink at the moment. expensive lah but the quality is excellent. i have friends with bigger, cheaper tattoo's that look like shite.

It is all about personal satisfaction. If you are getting it to prove something to people, then that's the wrong reason. It is afterall pretty permanent (less you want to spend a few more hundred removing it).

whats with getting tattoo, the most important thing is that u r doing tattoo which means something to u, more like a story in life. then, definately u wont regret over it.
as for the gal posted, her tattoo looks like really good piece of art, but does it means a thing to her? is she doing it for the trend, for the fashion. if she does, she will cry over it in couple years.

tattoo is an enjoyment for me, i am addicted to the pain. as for me, i got one on my back now and for my sis, she got two.
nothing wrong with tattoo, it is a personal statement and, to many ppl i know, doctors, laywers, CEO, also have tattoo. and me, i am a going-to-be engineer and my sis is a master degree holder.

They are well known internationally as well from what I found out. The last international tattoo convention was held in Sabah and the both of them are regular participants in this. Eddie once told me that Anthony Bourdain (if you don't know him, can google lah) once walked in and he didn't know who it was. I'm not surprised ler, they are really good.
