Well guys.. finally proton is using petronas engines that has previously manufactured by them but its for 1.8 and 2.2 litres only.. Well that is wayyyy better then CAMpak engine by proton... I wonder if the engine BHP is still the same or not? .. But its worth buying for ..

Nope.. actually petronas has sold it to the chinese manufacture lately where previously proton dump it... but now, they r trying to use it again..

tats prototype spec....by the time it reaches production, they'll probably haf to slash down some HP in order to cut some costs producing it......one of the reasons Proton rejected this engine few years ago was bcoz its too expensive....so expect lower HP figures when it goes into production.....or maybe they'll do like wat Mitsu does wif their Mivec, maintain the claimed figures but in reality, barely reaches so....hehe.....

Well Proton will probably use other variants of the E01 for their cars. If Proton ever releases a Type-R like car with the aforementioned highest spec E01... I know I'll be one heck of a proud Malaysian!

i think we must make a demand or our voice heard. write to newspaper or such. tell proton we want the best this time. dun let them start/ cut the new engine low. otherwise it will take time before the engine performance fully unleashed! and we are too old to drive that time!

Guys i still wonder why we got local made patronas engine... sound and look good with it... somemore able to produce over 200 hp!!!! but proton seems like make it invisible!!! still dont understand!!!!

just my opinion,
before protong can come out with such engines or cars, they should relook into their quality control of their current cars first.

if current models are giving sooo many problem, who will have the confidence to look into their newer models?

if they want to mass produce cars with 200bhp...i rather put wheels on a coffin and drive it.

Proton is too smart... they think after separating from Mitsubishi in the early 90s, they can do better.

Think again, they failed and now had to beg Mitsubishi to JV again.
