i'm new here. this year i think i can finally afford an evo, my dream car. has been following it's development ever since i saw the cover photo of autocar UK showing this silver evo 6 flying over a crest. fell in love with evos already.
i've a few questions:
1. i've been informed, nowadays, used evos are no longer being imported since mitsu is officially importing them now. is this true? i also noticed, there's a lot of unreg STis around, but not so evos (motortrader & the star). all are pre-owned units and only E7 versions or earlier. but admittedly, the person who told me is a used car salesman, trying to sell me an 02 STi at RM188k (damn expensive, i know)
2. what's the price range for an E8 this year? late last year, they were around high RM160+. not sure of unreg E8. recently i've only seen an ad for 04/05 E8 MR, asking RM190k for it. i feel this is a bit on the high side. naza has at least 2 units of brand new E8, selling at rm205k. but this is out of my budget and will lose lots of money buying new evos. price dropping fast by the week.
3. let's say, i choose a 2003 unit with moderate mileage, say around 40,000km or so, how much wear and tear should i expect? i'm putting aside around RM5k to replace consumables e.g. all oils (engine, g/box, diff, clutch, brake, etc..), brake pads & clutch. what else should i look for? is RM5k enough or should i set aside more? don't want any surprises later.
