Elderly & Underage Drivers

On my way 2 work tis morng,i was really piss off my when a kancil suddenly came out of a junction& i almost ram into it.luckily i sempat stop la.the driver of the kancil was an elderly man, and the car was packed with passengers.to think wat would have happen if i had not stop in time.the driver only raised up his hand as a sign of saying 'sori'.so,wat do u guyz think?should elderly drivers be driving on a bz highway???i think their eyesight s in bad condition-not to disrespect them r anytng- do u hv any xprience like tis 1?o,& oso xprience wit undr age drivers.share....share...

Old ppl need to go places too. Maybe they're slow, but you'll drive as bad as them while you're at their age.

If laws prohibited older ppl to drive, then you'd complain about driving your parents to everywhere.

I believe there should be a system to retest all drivers over their ability to still drive safely after a period of time, say every 10 years, for example. Although you might think this is a nuisance but it would help save lifes. Some people just aren't fit to drive any moving vehicle and they shouldn't. That said, it would cause quite a lot of problems with a lot of people who still need to move around in their daily lifes and no thanks to hopeless public transportation in our land.

ya, think u guys r right.so, the only thing we can dois 2 b extra careful whenever we see them on the road right?who knows mayb when we try to overtake them they suddenly masuk into our lane.but tis also applies to some irresponsible & unalert drivers as well.

Agreed. An elderly person's reaction time and eye sight deteriorates rather rapidly at and advanced age and they should be administered tests regularly.

My grandad is in his mid 80's but still goes to work every morning. He used to drive but he's legally blind in one eye now. We've hired a taxi to take him to work and back everyday now.

At times i'd be cursing being behind such a slow car hogging the right lane. But when i pass the slow car, i realise its a really old man/woman driving it. Most of the time i'll just forget it and drive pass them. Its not that they intentionally hog the road but they're just old folks that needs to get to their destination safely.

Think about it, a elderly person driving slowly and hogging the lane is better than a young punk zig zagging and driving like a fucking asshole.

My late FIL voluntarily gave up driving when he felt that he's not that capable anymore. I'll do the same in a couple more years. But, but, but... sometimes, they cun't help but to drive as pubic transport sucks!!! :stickyman:
