Hi,

Just want to know how much the price for ek9 piston kit and where can get it.

Rgds,
jibam

4 unit of piston only... exclusive of piston ring.
for piston ring, if ori 1, one set RM440, NPR one set RM120, RIK one set RM120.

the moderators should put this as sticky notes. :)

Jibam,

Price of the EK9 B16B pistons are RM580 for 4 piston set. Piston Rings complete 4 ring set Genuine RIK Japan RM120 set.

If you really interested, i can get for you. PM me for more details.

Price is OK....Too bad it wont fit in to my GSR...ppl say it will hit the head!

anyone use b16b pistons with RIK or NPR rings here ? care to comment on this setup ? would it be safe n reliable since NPR n RIK is not the ORI rings for B16B pistons... ?

no type r inside.. its the piston ring that i talk about.... i'm using NPR - nippon piston ring.
JE? japanese enoderflitis.... kekekkeke

What else need to change to upgrade from eg9 piston to ek9 piston. Piston + piston ring + ? + ? ........................

try new setup laa...k20a 86mm piston...price wise is almost differ bout few ringgit maa...but then ur stroke@block dunno long enuff or not?b16 rite?hehe..so change block laa..b20

then 'only' can 'try' to beat hattech-v monster laa..heheeh

B16B piston inside normal B16A already bump the CR up to around 11:1 if not mistaken

has anyone tried using just the B16B pistons in a b16a block?

i mean just the pistons n piston rings......or the pistons, con rods, n crankshafts are needed? is it possible?

lex, its possibe.
just change the piston. piston rings oso can use back the old one.. but better change new one.. hehe
some ppl said minor mod must be done but i'm not sure what it is.
when free to yumcha...

hmmmm...yeah i heard its possible too but when ur engine is healthy then u'll be running on high compression that would introduce knocking for b16a std ignition timing..... i've talked with a mechanic in pandan indah a few days back n he told me something about machining for 'valve pocket' to avoid the knocking problem when install b16b pistons into b16a block n head......i dun really understand what he was explaining actually. cud anyone shed me some light on this please......my understanding is, if we ever machine the head or the pistons as to allow better valve seating, it would lower down the CR....am i right ?

I've seen a few guys running B16B pistons on B16A block.

But these tuners, won't let us know the whole exact pictures else you won't be doing the job at their place.

From what i gather but don't know how true is it, the pistons valve pockets are re-machine as safety margin if running high cams like jun 3 or toda c, and further works are also done on the head to clear the pistons.

With all these machining the compression does reduce a little but it is still way more than your b16a pistons.

My mechanic just assembled another B16a engine with B16B pistons for the coming MSS race, but he told this particular engine is tune for max compression and power and he himself doesn't know if it will last. hehe... He is doing some R&D work for track and not road use.

Last year, i did build a B18C engine with the B16B piston. Power was awesome!! But my old worn out Type R retainer broke and blew my engine.. hai.. no money built another monster engine now.
