EK led light indicator - what does it indicates ?

hi all...

just wanna have opinion from you guys about my car. i drive EK3.
last night orange led "check-engine" suddenly appear at console.
what does this indicates ?

i stop a while and do some check. water for radiator still a lot. battery
still gives it green color (mf). oil level slightly lower than upper indicator.
i start the engine back.. now the orange light no more appear. worry
with it, i add on some more engine oil.

the question is, what does the orange led "check -engines" means ?

other thing is that what is the symtom shown by car when it needs for
new timing belt or cluth plate ?

CEL lights up means there's sumthin wrong with the car...can be wiring, sensor, etc....if u dont know how to check it yourself, bring your car to any workshop that can read Honda error code....they will tell u what need to b replaced/repaired...

im not sure what to inspect at car, though i think some part of we can do it
by ourself, right ? when that happens, what the most possibly cause ?

sensor ? where sensor for that CEL located in car ?

i would like to inspect my car further b4 money got its wing and fly away from
my wallet... he heheh

i think u need check for the error code first before you can determine what's the cause.
and if dunno the cause, how to inspect your car further?

not sensor for the CEL laa...i mean mayb got others sensors got problem so it tells the ECU to tell the people of its problem via the CEL...to know what prob exactly u need to short 2 pins at the ECU, then the CEL gonna blink to tell u what's the error code....then you'll know what exactly is faulty...

if u wanna check it yourself (diagnostics), go to google and search for "Honda ECU error codes". There should be a link to hondatech website and will provide you with the DIY method on determining the error codes. All you need in determining the error is a paper clip or a piece of a very very short wire.

pgmfi website will help you as well...

last time the same thing happend to my car but the problem is that my spedo meter gone, after changing the speed sensor everythings is back to normal

Now...if only I could explain correctly where you should insert the wires...difficult to explain without photos. It's usually located beneath the carpet near the left side of your dashboard. If it's still a virgin, there should be a green rubber like cover covering the connector. Remove the covering and insert both ends of any short wire to each ends in the connector. After that's done, start (not ignition) your car. If your car has some errors on them, read the blinks appearing on the checklight.

To get the number of the stored error code you need to count the number of long flashes and the number of short flashes. The long flashes will occur before the short ones. A long flash represents 10, and a short flash indicates 1. So if the flashes look like _ _ - - (where _ is a long flash and - is a short one) then the error code is 22.

If there are multiple error codes, then there will be a noticeable pause before the next code starts.

looks like a dumb for not knowing much about own car tech.. ha hahah
will do search on web and photo to conduct DIY on honda ecu error codes.
