cracked side mirror

my side mirror cracked and i don't know what happened to it, just noticed it this morning when i went out to eat, i think a small pebble hit it or something.

so just now i went to this auto accessories shop, they call me to wait for a moment while to boss makes a call. he returned to me and said that the original side mirror from honda cost rm90, shocked the fuck outta me 90 bucks for a piece of mirror. he said those are OEM, no need to recut or any modification, just glue on only.

he said got other alternative is to go to those shop that sells mirror or glass and call then to measure and custom cut one, those is about rm20 to 30 but it won't look that nice and the quality might be different from the original and there'll be a lot of work because they got to measure, cut then smooth the edges.

i was thinking to go to chop shop to scout for some side mirror. do you guys think chop shop can sell only one piece of mirror or will they sell one whole side mirror including the plastic piece? thanks in advance?

I replaced mine last year for RM70, OEM. I think the guy you spoke to just talking shit. If it's original, you don' t have to glue, just have the mirror clip on the base in the mirror housing, simply snap assembly.

There are tons of them in chop shop, but I am afraid you need to get the entire mirror housing and base as well which they probably won't just sell you the mirror itself.

rm70? thats more relieving than rm90, i was quite shocked too when he say glue on plus he showed me the glue they gonna use, those long bottle white color one.

i went to another accessories shop just now, they say they got fake / recon ones but the quality will make you shout OMFG. the boss knows one of my friend so he let me try it on, it's actually a used one before. snap it into my car and i took it out for a drive. the result is i can't really estimate the car coming from the back, the surface is not really flat or equal, and after sometime looking at it i feel like pening/giddy.

by the way where did you got it from hikaru? i'm going up to kl tomorrow. if can i would like to get it tomorrow. scared later those police come kacau me

like that u better just go kedai potong and find the side mirror lah.....a good side mirror is something i cant do without...like those cibai proton ones...very small field of vision...like everything looks too close in the mirror

yeah petrolhead i agree with you, a side mirror kinda important because you're gonna use it and look at all the time while you're driving.

now i'm worried those that are available in chopshop doesn't match my car color. plus there'll be some wiring work to be done right? because my side mirror is controlled inside a car through a button near the steering wheel. by the way any of you guys know whats the estimated / rough cost to get one. plus installation?

aaaahhh....just spray back la the colour...and about whether ull get the right mirror or not....i think u have to ask ur mech...

mine was broken and hanging by the cable...so what i did was cut the cable open to see what wires are inside...some have 3 wires and some have 5 wires or something like that....and a friend helped me find it la so it was much easier for me also

i always got blindspot when driving my dad's wira, eventhough adjust properly already. but i have no problem when driving my EF ... the view is like 'wide' enuff.

i replaced mine for RM40 (mirror + plastic base with swivel clips) compatible manufacturer. works, is made exactly like the original. Got it from your neighbourhood-friendly spare parts shop (try Sea Park). Get some grease and elbow it in. ;)

Try the multitude of accessory shops in Sea Park la! like there's one which specializes in glass/windows/rubber seals etc. - Kam Meng Auto Suppliers. or PH Auto. ;)

but u can go to shop selling mirror lor...can get as low as Rm15

Do you need the complete housing with base or just the mirror only? Get it brand new if you are looking for the mirror only. If you are looking for the complete side mirror housing and base then PM me and probably I can help you. There's one sitting here.
