I would try to avoid weekends if i were u guys. Its a tourist hot spot and jam packed la nowadays in cameron on da weekends... if possible laa... if not what to do...

weekends is ok,but not school holidays or public holidays.if not u guys will ended up jam jam jam jam and jam.then no parking.from hotel to place to eat also will take hours of times,travelling 10km takes 1 hours.go at ur own risk

needless to say,u wont enjoy much if u go up on holiday and public holiday.the touge full of cars going up and down,u cant finish overtakes them..

theres one time im too bored.i kira how much car i can overtake,and it was chinese new year holiday..from the bottom of the hill till top i overtook over hundreds of cars.

cameron highland Trip might a good idea but beware a few corner its damm sharp like sepang turn 4 :)
but i like to drove at night time to cameron highlands so can over take others side way can save some tire
but you will feel your car bit slow when vtec kick in maybe was the low O2 problem

Bro i think crusing from simpang pulai towards KG Raja better then from Tapah toward Ringlet - Tanah Rata so can meet out at simpang pulai chi chat,pump gas

3 room only cost 180-250/night
