Boost reading drop? why ?

Hi bro n sis

Currently i using gsrt turbo std tdo4h in my wira. Last time my boost meter reading 0.7-0.8bar..suddently...around few week i have problem with my boost drop.. The car performance drop.. n my boost reading 0.4bar drop 0.4 half boost..Why ? I try to check my piping intercooler fizicaly but i not fine any host are licking...My intercooler std type "kotak tisu ic" I suspect host licking..Why this happen ha???host piping intercooler licking or, intercooler licking?Please advise me ... tq..
 
1. r u still using the original hose??
probably old hose already "kembang"
when u boost the hose expand...

2. yup..check ur BOV

3. maybe leaking somewhere...check thoroughly...

p/s use SAMCO hose ..better hehehe

Bro i using bov std vr4 .. i fine check bov fine some oil in bov .. is bov licking.. i have spare bov sheep dog.. i try to changing ...I check host all good condition n like new .. already changing if after buy the halfcut..
 
same wit mine la...BOV there got oil come out..leaking a?

my performance oso drop la....but dun hv boost meter so cant read d boost level..but can feel d car no pulling power la..

Bro your problem similer i like mine... this must changing bov.. Bro u car running what engine.... ??

bro, u change ur BOV oledi? how is tat? im running evo3 engine in evo3.....my BOV will tembak minyak la....urs oso like tis? BOV kong a? mine is Greddy type-s..used it 6 yrs oledi i think

i am not changing until now.. i plan to changing this week. if i already changing my bov .I update here..

Another reason your boost drops is because your turbo precontrol (many call it the actuator) gate is not opening/closing/stuck. Check for this before you spend any money. This causes you to vent before you reach full boost. Hope this helps.

If this actuator problem.. what the sollution must using externel wastegate or not. FYI bro i using down pipe ... that mint other waste gas can going true downpipe..I am true or not.. please advice me..I already check my bov suddently fine sum oily in my bov. so i suspect .. bov problem.. licking at bov..
 
oil around the blow off is quite normal. Blowby gasses usually carry oil sediments. The actuator rod should be checked first.

bro, how to check it? use hand to pull n push it see it will move or not ar? or how? plz advice
 
Put a hand pump with a gauge on to the actuator and pump. If actuator open or move when designated pressure is reached its ok... if only open at higher pressure then no need to buy boost controller!! : P I dont open then its KO.

huh? wat pump o? basikal pump can o not? if it dun open mean rosak? izzit?
 
Its a pressure hand pump with a pressure guage attached to it. Mechs should have it. If dun open means its stuck. Assuming that thats the culprit ....

aiyo..my mechanics very buzy la.....but i can do the car at d workshop myself
 
if you are loosing performance , and if you think its the actuator , then you must see if the wastegate flapper is stuck open or there is a slight gab between the flapper & exit port . and for your info mitsu tdo5h turbo & exhaust manifold has this cracking problem at the exhaust housing & manifold , they are very well known for this problem . so if its not the actuator or bov or hose , it can be your turbine / ext manifold housing has slight crack or exhaust manifold studs are broken and cant hold the manifold tight enough .

cause im facing this problem too and im aware of runing on 4 broken manifold studs , which im really loosing pressure at high revs and i can smell lots of exhaust fumes while boosting .

My backside crack .....

Wah ... ves 4 broken studs and still boosting fine!! Yes, the wastegate flapper can also be the problem and KNN the mitsu wastegate port always crack one ... I had 2 small cracks on them long time ago and its only a matter of time before it start to leak big time ... looking for a spare turbine housing now... :rolleyes:
