1st pic for low boost... 2nd pic for high boost applications.

freddy:wat u trying to tell?

alvin24:if i use the 2nd setup on low boost application wat will happen?wat boost lever consider low?and wat consider high?

use the 2nd setup.... it doesnt matter if you running high or low boost since the lowest boost you can go is determine by your wastegate spring rate...... normally ppl use the 1st setup if the external wastegate dont have the upper nipple or for internal wastegate setup...

Yeaps... like what cyborgsabah said... minimum boost is determined by the wastegate specs... what size/spring rate u bought lah? The box should have its specs written on it... unless u bought second hand, then u'll have to ask the previous owner.

2nd setup is used when the 1st setup can no longer hold the boost in a stable condition... ie: boost creep or boost leak. If boost spike, its usually the boost controller's fault rather than the wastegate/actuator.

alvin...so if the wastegate spec says 1 bar, does it mean the lowest boost is at 1 bar eventho we r using the boost controller to lower down the boost lower than that??...

sorry la for this noob question....i'm still learning about how this wastegate and boost controller solenoid work together....

cyphunk : yeap bro, if 1bar is the rate, no way to go lower other than changing spring

I have a question here since we are all discussing about the external wastegate. I'm using a Tial 38mm with 0.7 bar spring. I just want to know whether the setup for the Tial 38mm is correct as I follow exactly the chart/diagram provided by Tial.

Take note of the red circled area, is that correct to use the T joint?

The boost controller is the Greddy Profec B2. Sorry to ask this stupid question, still new to this.

HELLO ,
just use the second pic, the first pic is wrong it will just operate on the waste gate spring .. the second pic is set up correctly for using the boost controller...

guys,
im currently using gfb atomic boost controller.im using the low boost application(refer to http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...aste20gate.jpg).if i want to change to hi boost application should it look something like this?http://planet.time.net.my/technologypark/lembu84/gfb.jpg

0339975: your setup is exactly like mine. would like to know this as well.

guyz , u all can use the hi boost setup
but just to remind u that ur controller will start to work difrently
like tulang ikan : the more open valve, the lower the boost
same goes to GFB , hi will come lo , low comes hi

dont blow ur engine guys

use the 2nd setup guys...

the EWG itself will determine lowest/min boost...that is y when buying and aftermarket EWG u must know the spring rate as well.

use an electronic boost con to set how quick u want the turbo to spool and as well setting ur max boost.

im boosting around 0.8 bar....but b4 reaches the peak boost...the wastegate already open...it let go the pressure too early n lose power......how to make the wastegate open later???.....

what does it means?hi will come lo,lo comes hi?help....

another prob.....im using the 2nd set up with tulang ikan......
as wat jinkl said...open more valves, boost lower.....
i opened all 4 valves but my boost still cant stop....
open all the boost charge slower but still the boost cant stop till got cut.....
wat happened????

i wanna ask all pro here...can i use boost controller in twin turbo? mine is eterna v6 twin turbo...i think the normal boost is 0.4 bar... how much can i boost up ? min? max? any idea?
will this damage my turbo or any disadvantage if i use boost controller?
planning to go for apexi AVCR..any idea?
