Bigger Rim problems?

today i heard from the workshop boss
i was looking at the sport rims section and the boss came and told me that bigger rims will cause slow braking...
is this true??

then he said, "actually rims are expansive is depends on the perfection of the rims... as japanese rims are expansive and can go up to 1-2k for just A rim. like this advanti rims their perfection is only 80% and those japanese rims are 98%. people change this kind of rims is bcoz they wanted to go more then 210km/h for smooth driving and wont wobble alot..."

-sluggish pick-up .
-high fc
-shorter lifespan of the drive shaft .
-pricy tyres

but u will get
-better look
-handling

those ppl want to get higher speed ? nah ... above 200 ? nah ... do u think our proton or civic runs above 200 all the time ? basically , it is not worth . biggest u should go is change to 16' . 17 above , get ready to spend more on the others ...

evertytime u change to a bigger rim . u must remember that the wheel is not working by itself , it works with the whole suspension component ... therefore , you need to upgrade the suspension set-up as well .

don't be like those ahbeng or mat-rempit or indianbeng , buy cheap cheap car ... big big rim ...but the camber all lari already , use 2nd hand tyres ....

a good rim , such as avanti , which is used by Satria R3 , it is light weight rim . if R3 is willing to take it as OEM part , i don't think that avanti is that bad .

i think rim size should go along with the engine's power.... if u have 200hp under the hood it's ok to use 17" or bigger.. coz got enuff power to pull.. but if u use 17" on stock engine, say proton 1.3 then u will have a lot of problems :D

even in evo3.....i hv been advised to use 15 or 16" only coz if too big my car will lose in Pick-up....so now my evo3 is 16" n d ori 15" keep as spare :)

but how bout kenari? my kenari 15" with 175/45/R15 tyres la.....juz change to monroe absorber with lowered spring n full RS bodykit....engine stock...juz changed extractor +piping til rear muffler..whole set changed

but for evo...15" is ok unless u boost higher so tat change to 16" to get more grip n to get more stability......but if my car put 15" cannot go shoping center carpark la..bloody low d car i oso dunno y......

it seems like ur 1.6 is auto . better play safe , don't change to too big diameter , 15 is quite good for proton wira , if u want ... go for maximum 16 inch .
it is like wearing somehting that is suitable , depends on engine power .
don't be moron like some ppl , i have seen waja with 18inch ... huge exhaust , damn stupid .... see his car goncang like hell .

those WiSE size is 16 if not mistaken ...
try to use good rim ... dun go ciplak such as JRD .
prepare for the tyre , at least 100 more than normal 15 inchc .
