B16b Vs B16a

Just wondering what is the difference b16A vs B16B? Why is B16B more powerfull?Its the same Engine block right?Is B16B the tuned ECU version of B16A?

Any help is appreciated!

The computer box settings, portings & designs makes its step further compared detailed in B16A, B16B and B16C .. tats y its released as Type R version and not for general street use.

U know la .. Jap's .. where can afford release all honda's use B16C .. no syok leh & no money oso ;)

EG8, B16C is also a variance from D15B VTEC, ZC, B18B, B20B, B16A1 VTEC, B16A2 GSR, B16B VTEC Type-R, B16 Type-R H22A, H23A, F22B, F20B.

Mostly B16C available in Acura / Honda VTEC-GSR and also known as SiR and it's very-very rare.

Basic difference : b16B has a bigger TB, bigger intake manifold, wilder cam profile (the best from honda), pistons are molybdenum coated with different dome shape, head is factory ported and polished, extractor is different, quite a lot of difference...

Finally save up enough money for my pet project "B16C". I pick up this legendary JDM B16A in Montreal.
After a year of rebuilding it to "C Spec." We finally cramped this Motor into the engine bay. On 9/24 we strap
this bad boy on dynojet at Dynopower, with impressive results of 152.4 hp and 107.7 ft-lbs torque @ the wheel.

The B16B is actually a B18CR that has been destroked. It also has the same block height as the B18CR. (270mm as oppose to 263mm for B16As)

Thats why B16Bs can be bumped back up to 1800cc after you put in the rods and crank from the B18c.
