for the past few months i have read about a new product which have been here for 2 years. the product is called "AUTO FOAM". Basically it's a FOAM which they will drill a hole into your car body and inject these foam into your body chasis thus filling up every space in the body. the foam will then be harden and become solid.

it is said that the foam does not carry any weight and it will give your car a much solid body (like those BMW, Merc etc etc..). Eg when u close your car door it sound more like a "thump" then a "pang". Driving will be more silent. it is recommended for older cars.

Has anyone out there who have this thing done into their car?. Will this foam really makes the car better?. Let's hear some feedback.

never heard of this foam before... issit something like the one you inject in ur tyres so when you have a nail in ur tyres the gel covers up the hole and harderns?

i've done it to my iswara. good product.... why coz i'm using 4g61t engine and the car has been mod mostly. basically even with upgraded suspension + ultra strut, fender bars all round the foam really help stiffens the body. u know la...iswara summore with non standard heart....hehe.

but its not cheap....but it works especially on my car

just sharing

where did you get this done?
if i'm not mistaken it's around jln ipoh right?

any other place to do it? cause jln ipoh is a bit far and i'm not too sure about the roads there
thanks :)

i read about the product too, quite interested since my car damn old and i try my best to stay away from roll cage since its street driven car.

i have no doubt about the effectiveness of the of the product, since JUN also have similar stuff. what i'm interested is is there any bad effect on it or not? i hear someone say it will disturb the water flow in the car's body somehow, like rain water might go through some holes in the car and flow out under the car. if its filled with the foam and hardens, will it trap water and induce rust?

where can u get this brother? haven heard this product so far ler.. but i kno the luxurios car is using this concept.

how much can list the price here?? so they jsut inject it into the car door right??
what about the roof??

injected into most of the hollow cells in your car. esp, the doorsteps and inside your A, B and C Pillars.

on the issue of it restricting waterflow, i think it sounds logical that it could happen.

but the bigger issue is when you have a fender-bender, it will be impossible to "knock out" that particular dent once it has solidified. many knock-shops refuse to do repair works on areas that have been treated with this foam.

risk vs return.

hmmm hard decision to make.... if in this case maybe superlon will be the best bet.
BTW does the foam hardens?? Or issit removable?

yup...as hard as a rock..but almost weightless. regards to the water thingy....its non absorbent....basically when its injected its in liquid form & flows to fill up the gap. the installer is experience enough to ensure the hollow section is filled....basically it eliminates the presence off empty space once its injected...dont really see an issue of water to sip in.......takes about 3 hrs to fill...& max harden period will be achieve within 3 day. location is kl auto....near vistana hotel off jln ipoh.

but its ur choice to do it or not....

Autofoam has been discussed over at Autoworld for quite sometime now, the companies rep also posts theres and they've had articles in all the local modding mags. I definately want to try it sometime, just that its a little pricy at RM1K + for the body not including the boot. Maybe wait till they have a promotion or something.

And good is d sound proofing.. does it really help in sound proof? and strengthen d chassis as well??

guys...soundproof...merely i would say(since its a foam...dont expect u get the same as those audio soundproff thingy) its more meant for stiffening

oic. ok... but i does help to give ur car tat solid sound like continential car.?
can it still able to get those insulfex foam lay in d door panel if these autofoam process is done?

like the iswara, the owner sound pretty happy with the product. the only thing is that its permanent. once done, u can never turn back. so it's a one way street...

hmmm.... once u put it in to stiffen ur chasis...whats the point to take it out. don't see any point unless if like u mod ur suspension...after u wanna sell off u can put back original ones.
have not seen anyone who tints his window takes it out for 2nd hand sale.....hehehehe

just my 2 cents

y dont try do sports welding? the price just around rm 800++

i think its more reliable cos i heard this from my firend who trying to import this machine
here.

spot welds are not that easy to do...u have to bare strip the paint of ur car....meaning taking everything out...thats what WRC Sg Buloh did... & i'm sure it cost more than 800
