Girl, boyfriend killed in crash

KUALA LUMPUR: A daughter of the Jalan Hang Tuah police station chief died on the spot when a car driven by her boyfriend rammed into a pillar at the Jalan Parlimen flyover early yesterday morning.
The couple, identified as Sharifah Hanim Syed Ahmad, 24, and Anuar Zakaria, 23, were on their way to Bangsar from Jalan Tun Razak.
A police spokesman said Anuar lost control of his Honda Integra and skidded, ramming into the pillar.
He said the couple died of serious head and body injuries.
In the 4am incident, the Fire and Rescue Department took about 30 minutes to take out both bodies from the wrecked car.
The remains were claimed by the two families about noon yesterday from the Kuala Lumpur mortuary.
