HELLO GUYZ,

NEED HELP!
MY CAR PROBLEM IS WHEN I PULL MY THROTLE UNTIL 5500RPM ONWARD, MY MACHINE WAS JERKING...DUNNNO WHY?
I HAD CHANGE MY COMPUTER BOX, IGNITION COIL, CABLE PLUG, SPARK PLUG (USE THE COLD ONE) THE PROB. STILL APPEAR ..
MY HEAD WAS CARCKED NOW... NEED OPINION A.S.A.P

me having same problem too
when i hard throttle my car it'll jerk
i've checked all that u've said but couldn't find the problem

you said u changed the computer box? you mean change with an OEM or motec/haltech etc etc??

for my case i suspect it is the knock sensor retarding the timing thus the jerking. why? because when i hear pinging my engine doesn't jerk. but when it jerks i don't hear pinging. weird? *shrugs*

when i get a piggyback in i'll confirm if its the knock sensor loh..... you can also check your fuel pump and fuel regulator! ;)
 
yeah maybe you are running lean...ECU retard the timing....try upgrade your fuel pump to bigger one lor and don't forget to change the fuel filter also....it is cheaper than changing the ECU....btw how much boost you are running now 1.2bar?

i'm running on standard boost ma ... 0.65 bar only
dunno why ... bcoz before this poblem came i'm just running 0.8 bar ... suddenly when i check my spark plugs its fuel is running lean ..
so, take off the 'tulang ikan' to maintain standard back

what do u mean 'knock sensor'. is it the map sensor ?
 
fuel pump!... try bigger one.
how many litres per hour is normal 4E's pump arrr?
 
check ur fuel pump, fuel filter, n fuel rail...last time i oso having the prob like tis..after i changing tat item..prob fix..
 
try to get d rx7 fd or fc fuel pump n regulator... i boost 1.6 bar also no problem till now... 200bhp on 1.6bar dyno tat day in GT...:_:
 
i suspect its the fuel pump, std 4efte is capable of doing 190liter/hour.

190 lph? i dun think so... evo3 fuel pump only generate 145~170lph leh... as for d rx7 FD 3S,d flow rate is 210lph...
 
bro, juz tumpang ur thread ... I'm using 4AFE bolt on turbo kit .. tend to upgrade my fuel pump as well ... what fuel pump shuld i go for n how much it will cost r?

keong, u have to remember dat an evo has 2 fuel pumps, a 4efte fuel pump is bigger den AN evo/GSR fuel pump. note dat iam comparing ONE unit between the two pumps.

stock pump will never enough if up ur boost or tweak ur engine...:_:
 
hm... have we also forgotten injector could be max out shld boost so high? i heard 4EFTE stock injector max out at 140whp not sure how true it is
 
dunno d stock 4e's injector how many cc,should be around 2XXcc something... i'm now using gsr 390cc,too big sometime hard to set d fuel also leh... d better way is remain d stock 1 then add d extra injector if fuel supply not enough... of cos u need an management to do tat...
 
i think around 295 if i was not wrong. yeah, too big can be hard to tune especially depends on which management you're using. but i wun risk of havint miss a duty cycle whn its pumping 100% rate. whahahahaha.

i dun like the idea of having additional injector coz i always believe the fuel will not unbalance distribute to the cylinder. im quite sure the most far frm the TB will get most less fuel. Unless you plumb the injector at the inlet manifold.

i'm using d 390cc injectors rite now n control by d e-damage... daily driven is ok but if want to safe somemore,use back d stock 4e injector n put1 extra... good tuner can balance it with no problem...:_:

take evo 1,2 or 3 for example... d stock boost 0.8 bar ~ 1bar around tat lar but when i up till 1.2 or 1.3 bar,d engine blow liao... not enough fuel... we didn't tweak anything except put in d electronic boost controller... as for d fuel pump,now change to walbro 255 lph,with adjustable fuel regulator,1.5~1.7bar senyum senyum shj...:_:
