i use denso 0.4mm ik22 (7 heat range) cool plug
after 2 months i checked
plug is in white colour (see photo attached)
think should go more cool plug
ie ik24...
zul, how your comment
i read a statement before that the selection of spark plug departs on the driver's style / habbit
the used spark plug will reflects the true condition,
the darker colour of electrode plug, the hotter (heat range) plug is required
The whitten colour of electrode plug, the cooler plug is required
the ideally colour is brown
the smaller number of heat range, the hotter plug it is
the larger number of heat range, the cooler plug it is
What if already putting the 0.8mm TRD metal head gasket, Plug need to change to heat range 6 or 7???Cos i'm using IK20 denso and found out the electroc ceramic there is white red colour. it is too hot???........now i'm using HKS 35i which is in range 7.
if not mistaken, range 7 is 4 turbo cars which produce more heat, so need cooler spark plug while range 6 n below is 4 na car, bout d kaler of d spark plugs is depending on ur car tuning whether is it 4 pick-up or top speed (if light brown 2 white-less petrol in ur combustion mixture), (if black or too carbonised meaning too much petrol), d ideal is brown kaler.......dis is wat my pomen told me laa :-)
sincere,
thats a nice plug.meaning ur afr is good..or maybe lean a little bit hehehheh.
higher heat range will make ur engine coolder.its good right??? yes if ur engine is running high deg of timing or maybe a turbo or maybe rev none stop 5-8k...
problem will occur during low, relax condition..will make ur engine coolder.NA engine need around 80-90c of water temp to burn the fuel properly.and remember ecu ign timing n fuel also diff according to temp sensor.
Thats why explain the suck low end issue from CorollaGT??
