It is fun to drive my car now with the new engine.. I want to know at 100kph.. wht is your rpm reading at fifth gear... Now I'm doing fuel consumption... seem that the FC is quite higher.. I'm using the tools I made at www.l2tt.net for the FC calculation....

Now I have two main problem...hope anyone here can help me to rectify the problem...
1. LSD ... it was said by mech was setting at full load.. making sound everytime i press gas pedal... and click click sound when turning into junction .. is it normal for LSD from AE86..

2. Suspension... very hard and the riding is like low riderz...very difficult to drive when the road condition is very bad.. you all know lah KL road with construction...

Any ideas how to improve my suspension setting.. can I use other rear absirber from other car which is better than my kyb abs....the frons suspension is acceptable for now..

As for the custome made suspension from TITAn.. do they have sport one (cheaper one) .. other than what acoustic have spent on his titan... my neighbours sugest me HWL (cost around RM2K+++)...

my rpm reading in 5th gear is 3200-3300 at 100kph

my LSD didnt sound click click at all during turning,it also doesnt sound when accelerating (it does sound but very little 'eeeee',not really audible unless u really focusing on the sound).i can say that it doesnt make any loud noise at all.

fuel consumption - damn very bad,i think rm10 can go only 50-60km or even worse

Mine at 100kph @3000rpm ...

That means my LSD is abnormal.. my mech ask the potong shop already to swap with the other one.. now waiting the taukey who are in Japan now.. hope he agred to change it to other one...

And one more the water temperature seem to mulfunction in the first place.. talk to my mech about it and he said.. the fan will turn all time and not depend on the thermostat.. he show me how to bypass and the rediang is about half of the meter... so confirm the meter is okey.. but how come the reading is so low below the L indicator???

mine gear box also got sound la..donno from lsd or gearbox bearing..but people told me gearbox wif lsd have these kind of sound..when press pedal have when not don have..why aa..

ken, may i know what rim size u r using, and what's the distance from tyre to fender?

I'm using 15" rim with 185/50/15 series tyre... . the gap for front is around 1" and the rear is inside 0.5"...

seem the same problem as me... the sound not from the gearbox but from lsd.. confirmed...

i'm using denso radiator (dunno from what car),got two fans at the back of it,one for radiator,and one for aircond condenser,i connect the fan directly,whenever the engine runs,it runs....the other fan only switch on when the air cond compressor is on.so far,no overheating problem...

at day,without aircond,normal driving --- the needle on the L mark,or a bit over the L mark

at day,without aircond,high speed driving.....needle 1 cm past L mark

at day with aircond,normal or high speed---needle 5mm to the centerlne between
L and H

at night,without aircond,normal drive---near to L mark from the left
at night,without aircond,high speed----on L mark or a bit over L mark
at night,with aircond,normal or high speed----1 cm past the L mark

thats it..heheh

for the gearbox...my gearbox or lsd doesnt sound at all,only the long shaft whine... :)

cuscostrutbrace... so taht is normal temp laa for direct fan.. mine is also like that... the fan will turn on when the engine start.... and one more fan for aircond.... thanks for your info on your car temp... :D

yup...more better,engine driven fan are noisy,and consumes more power than electrical ones...electrical fans do consumes power..but not much and its constant throughout the rev range,more better if they are temperature activated..

As for me .. i prefer to have fan driven by engine.. electrical fan something have problem with the relay and the thermostat and might cause overheating problems.... I read somewhere said that the fuel consumption will be worst if the engine did not achieve it normal operating temperature... it is true for continental engine... but for japanese own... does not apply i assume... my previous engine also have very low water temp compare to conti car like volvo and citroen...

I still prefer the original mechanical fan that driven by engine.

Why? it look cool!!! hahahah....but a bit noisy.

Of coz Toyota Engineer have their own research and finding before they powered the fan by engine power on AE86 engine.

Stay original...less hassle.

Ken, could it be ur LSD is a Full lock racing type? coz full lock racing type will produce such noise 1 wor... unlike those for street use 1 lah. they r using full lock clutch type 1 wor. Those full lock street use 1 will not produce such noise 1 lah...

george8724... yes the lsd i have is for racing drift with all the racing spec and at full load.. that is base on my mech and the guy from chop shop.... :huh: .. so lsd for the streat one make no noise... so that means the lsd i got will make noise as it normal characteristic?? :blink:
