what's the different between these 2? because seems
Thai's owez prefer 1jz than rb25 on their ceffy...

rb25det..what's so special about it?
price ?
year production?


if 1jz, how much?
year production? izit hard to put into a31?
what should i mod? mountings? long shaft?
what can use & what can't use?

which engine give higher horse & torque?
1jz is twin turbo isn't? me newbie here...pls help....

Err the issue is Thai people are very very familiar with 1JZ conversion already

the Wiring Harnes bla bla bla so on.
and spare part is more for them compared to RB for them

heard 1JZ is popular due to the Conversion on pickup at begining
and hit on A31 as well
 
1JZ much stronger that the RB25det.

the only downside is the turbine being on the passenger side which means
that it would interfere with certain things such as the steering or something like that.
 
IJ has 280hp and 255hp on 25. 1J's engine is lighter but looks damn ugly to me. If the tiing belts on the 1J snaps the valves are constructed in such a way the it will not hit the pistons crown.

Some say 1J produces better exhaust notes but I am a die hard Nissan fan. 1J engine don't have much aftermarket parts locally but I know where you can get a Power FC for 1J. Looks uglier too.

1J is cheaper than a 25 ......RM2.8k to RM4k for loaded cuts.....you will have a fun time looking for a manual tranny 1J, 25 engine looks more the part.1J like a carton of ciggy,ugly.

If you are going the 1J direction I would suggest you get hold of the wiring harness from thailand as they have off the shelve harness for A31 1J conversion........one of many problem with 1J is that if your water pumps konks out you cant find new unit but to buy a whole engine from the wreckers. ECU expensive,RB Mines ECU costs RM300 to RM500 but for 1J's it will set you back RM1K!

Oh! did I mention it looks ugly too?
 
in stock form the 1J has damn good oil pump, which is equivalent to an aftermarket oil pump for the RB's. So in terms of trashing & reving the engine, i guess 1J is slightly more reliable.

devious, why is 1J ugly to you? i thought your "kapita engine" is ugly enough.. :lol:

eh! my kapita engine is a classic okay? no otehr car compares to it.........not that any car would want to anyway hahahahahaha

for everyday use...
& as for the fuel compsumption? rb more telan minyak than 1j izit?

& if i do want to go to 1j, where can i get the wiring harness for a31 & how much does it cost?? worth it than rb25 it self?

gearbox? & longshaft? izit plug & play?or need to kawin 1...?

there's a couple of generations of 1JZ.

Most recently is the 1Jz-GTE that comes with VVTi-L system. The way to know this is that the cam cover got the VVTi logo and it's single turbo. Expect to pay around RM7k for this cut.

Mostly 1Jz-gte comes in Supra or Soarer or Chaser or Mark II. A lot are auto tranny but there are manual tranny available too. This early generation 1JZ-GTE is twin turbo and the setup is almost the same as the 2JZ-GTE twin turbo... sequential turbo if not mistaken. Expect to pay around RM2800 to RM4000 for a good condition cut.

Hmm... i know someone who got 1JZ-GTE from a Soarer and it's completely done up. Single T67 turbine with HKS wastegate, Mines tuned ECU, big intercooler, injectors... and lots more... around RM8k to RM9k.

into A31? haih... dont la weh!!! better get a MARK II or Chaser JZX90 and do up. it's straight fit, no mods needed. I know of 2 JZX80 Mark II in KK that's running 1JZGTE but they're drag fan.. not drift... at least not yet. hehehe.. :D

if not chun, y those thai's often throw in this 1j rather than rb's?

there must be a reason there..... most of their a31 drag car oso
powered by 1j / 2j....

just found 1j hcut yesterday... got 'hantu' inside..selling for 4k...

was actually talking to a thai guy with a 1J in his a31... he said that over there it is just plain jane cheaper to use the 1J. And they have so many readily available mods forthe 1J going into A31s... so that's why...

also the 1J has a nicer, meatier, wider torque band... that helps! ;)
And if you really want to shove the thing hard, the AT boxes on the toyotas are a lot more robust than the nissan units....
 
but then, if 1J is to be put in nissan cars, there will be presence of toyota in there... not nice anymore.... the name is nissan, but powerplant is toyota...
and also, the forummers here will be angry :lol: :lol:

if auto... it's around that price. maybe a bit cheaper but from what cut? laurel? R33? Gloria?

anyway, pergh.. people moving to 2.5 already laaaaaaa. mati la like this. isk isk isk...

btw, i'm a fan of 1jz and 2jz but like someone said here, the parts are not as readily available as in thailand. imagine, we can get RB25det half cut for around RM4+k here, but there, it's at least RM6k.

also, 1jz comes readily available with 280ps and 300+Nm torque. the powerband is broad, but it's not as rev happy as nissan's engine.
 
dat rb25 is from r33 & it's a manual...
hmm..quite cheap? hmm... sorry ah, me newbie in nissan price list..
