R32GTR Or R33GTR

Just test drive both and see which one u like. Both are awesome GTR's. One lighter one newer, it’s a give and take situation. Take the advice of your fellow forumers but decided on your own when you drive the car. Don't just assume everyone knows what they are talking about especially if some people have not driven both cars before. No offence to anyone here :-) just trying to be objective.

Although I only own a GTS I was also contemplating between a 32 and 33.

i think i'm gonna go for R33gtr. Really love R32 but i know it's gonna be love and hate relationship with her. So i'm choosing a younger lady the R33.

ha ha same decision after thinking of the same issues. Congratulations.

Get a 32 as your track car :-)

I think R32GTR are very rare in Malaysia? Say a 1994 model.

R32GTR 1994 model would be the V-Spec II's I believe. The only R32GTRs to come with Brembos stock from factory, previously all 32GTRs had Nissan 4pot/2pot brakes.

Kind of hard to test drive the 32GTRs since not that many around. Most of the ones available for sale would hardly be stock and thus comparing between the models is going to be highly subjective.

Whatever the choice is, whats most important is how the car has been maintained by previous owners(s) cause a newer R33GTR thrashed to hell and back is not worth much compared to a properly cared R32GTR (RARE!).

The thing is i'm getting the gtr directly from Japan. Impossible for me to test drive.

hungsin, No no go test drive friends or used ones. For used car shops you can pretend to be a buyer.

Pimpin, don't you think that statement works both ways :-) but if all is equal the 33 has a better chance due to age. Don’t get me I really like to own a 32. But after much consideration the decision took big turn towards the 33. Few of my criteria’s were reliability, technology & safety. Only my 2 cents

Here are my thoughts.

R32-GTR

Pros
1. Short wheebase and body (easier to line into corners)
2. Lightweight
3. Less electronics to go wrong
4. Abundant aftermarket and used-spares worldwide
5. The REAL Godzilla

Cons
1. Short crankshaft affects oil at high revs (biggest headache)
2. Outdated and slow Attesa ecu sampling
3. Hydraulic, (and heavy) Hicas (get rid of it anyway coz it's a failure)
4. Short wheelbase may not be great on fast tracks
5. Boring interiors
6. Fuel-tank baffle issue

R33-GTR

Pros

1. Newer engine with re-designed crankshaft
2. Faster Attesa ecu, even faster with v-spec
3. Electric-controlled Hicas (again, get rid of it anyway)
4. Interior ... errr ... so, so (better I guess)
5. Brembo's all-round

Cons
1. Heavy
2. Bulky for MY road
3. Too long to point in tighter corners
4. Limited spares
5. Too much electronics
6. Too big (again) as a racer.

That's my thoughts ... Feel free to add what you think as well :smokin:

korek,korek,korek......at first my mind really stick on the r32 due to the hardcore legends it achieved. My first impression on the r33 was like the car is so much bigger like an elephant without the curves as on r32. But as i read through lots and lots of forums i found that the r33 has a bigger potential down the road.
After looking at the r33 body styling, it's just a matter of selecting the right body kits to enhance the looks of it. But the most important thing is that relaibility down the road and also my supplier in Japan told me that in order to get an accident free and stock standard car will be very hard to find unless you are able to fork out 2-3 times more amount of money.
But that's just my thought and i do believe that i made a right choice. Still love r32 and i don't mind if i have the money to import both of the model:rofl:

A lot of thanks goes to those who sincerely contribute to this thread. Thank you.

Yeah but then again I'm biased LOL:rofl:

Honestly i feel the 32 has the best interior, even until the 34's. Just the design is sleekier and feels more sports car. 1 week i dont drive my 32 and getting back in it feels terrific, while the same duration and i get back in my 34, its not much of a excitement to be honest.
